La obra fue realizada por el arquitecto y escultor Abel Edmundo Ayarzagoitia Graham en el año de 1991. Es la misma flama que aparece en el escudo de la institución y sobre ella se puede leer el emblema Alere Flammam Veritatis, que quiere decir Alentando la Flama de la Verdad. A 86 años de la fundación de la Universidad, sigue ardiendo la Flama de la Verdad.
The University Flame also known as the Flame of Truth, is the most representative symbol of the University. The work was made by the architect and sculptor Abel Edmundo Ayarzagoitia Graham in 1991. It is the same flame that appears on the shield of the institution and on it you can read the emblem Alere Flammam Veritatis, which means Encouraging the Flame of the truth. 86 years after the foundation of the University, the Flame of Truth continues to burn.
