Flamingos Inn - 97320 Progreso

The place is beautiful, the hosts are incredibly nice, and the breakfast is amazing. The house has a small, private portion of beach, where the sunrise is amazing. Each room is a small apartment with bed, air conditioning, a small, full kitchen, a small living room, and full bathroom with amenities. It really is a magical place, worth every penny.

We love this place!! Beautiful views, great rooms, and very nice people. Very comfortable, spacious rooms and the pool is just wonderful!! Great location with a beautiful beach. Close to town for quick trips. Always clean. Kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal. We have been coming here for several years and will continue to come back.

First I must say I was so sad to learn Mike and Rosa had sold the Flamingos Inn. They've always been gracious and helpful. They are partly why we decided to return this year I can only hope the new owners will be as wonderful. This is our second time here and we spent 11 days in the penthouse suite. The room was wonderful and has a full kitchen which made it so easy to prepare our own meals daily. We had the property all to ourselves, staff were only onsite in the morning for breakfast. We later found out that they kept the property open just for us as they were transitioning ownership at this time. Things we loved-private beach, crystal clear water, wonderful bed, amazing patio and view, full kitchen, yummy free breakfast daily, Katia was so wonderful we just adored her, privacy, free onsite parking, refreshing pool, ample areas to recreate, free coffee in the room, responsiveness while onsite which was only the morning, many restaurants near by, love the flamingo theme, the cost to stay is worth every penny. Things that were disappointing-very little hot water, sketchy wifi, super windy afternoon and evenings, no spices or seasonings for cooking, lack of response when messaging about issues onsite, beach was dirty with seaweed (previously kept clear), no gate key, We enjoyed being the only ones on the property except for when we had an issue, a question or needed something. We know this wouldn't have been an issue if we had stayed at a time where the property wasn't changing owners. We understand the upheaval of the transition of owners and many of the cosmetic issues and lack of communication aren't a reflection of the norm. We had a chance to meet the new owners and they seemed very nice. However they spoke no English. Mike and Rosa thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us and so many others. We wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors and hope you get to travel as much as your hearts desire! Maybe we'll cross paths again.

From start to finish our one night here was perfect. We were greeted very kindly, shown to our clean room & the view OMG to die for! You could smell the ocean waves, so soothing at night to hear the waves as well. The pool was very relaxing, a nice hangout spot in the night time. From outside our room as well we got a beautiful view of the stars! In the morning we were treated with a yummy breakfast and an easy checkout ?

The people who own this place and manage it are incredibly sweet and welcoming. It is an intimate location with a beautiful private beach. The ocean here is calm and not extremely salty so it doesn't hurt your eyes. I'd want to come back in a heartbeat!

Wonderful location on the sea. Spacious and nicely decorated rooms. Helpful staff. Better than in pics.
