We came to this place to get some glasses done for my wife. She usually pays over $200 minimum back home in the States due to her stigmatisms and the types of lenses that her prescription requires. After all that, she typically has to bring the glasses back to get the lens recut due to migraines and dizziness caused by the slight imperfections in the lenses. Needless to say, her prescription is very delicate and requires precision. We were able to get her eye exam and her lens cut, in 20 minutes, at Flires for $45. The catch is that they make their money on the frames. We went to Wal-Mart and purchased a $9 frame to bring with us. I would highly recommend that if you have a hard time keeping your glasses intact, come down to Nuevo Progresso to get you a couple of pairs. The town is safe, it is a single strip straight off the border crossing and both sides of the roads are packed with dentist shops, pharmacies, restaurants and shops. Their main source of income is tourism, specifically Winter Texans to come down to the RGV to escape the winter weather up north. You can have piece if mind even if you decide to leave your vehicle on the US side and walk across. I would highly recommend the taco shop that sits right outside of this Optical, tasty and cheap.

Don't go here. I paid more than in the US and the exam was terrible and inaccurate.

Purchased frame and sunglass tinted progressive lenses. They are perfect! Reasonably priced. Highly recommend this business. Very professional. Will be back to purchase another pair of eyeglasses.

Took a pair of bolle safety glasses to get prescribed, then my Oakley daily frames. About to buy some Oakley sunglasses and get those prescribed. Great place, especially when you already know what you want.
