★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Italian food was quite good with generous portions, nice wine, and cerveza fria! We ordered a Salad with Chicken and Chicken Fajitas. Chicken was tender and plentiful, leftovers for the next day. We like the atmospher and fun decor. Would have rated Focaccia higher but had a weird thing happen twice, and that is getting short changed. The first time it happened I was pretty sure of what I paid in cash but didn't want to cause a scene; this last time I was 100% sure I was short changed a $100 MX on my bill. Huge deal? It's the principal. We tip well so yes, it soured my review. Waitress said nothing when I asked her and just handed me a $100 MX back. We like the restaurant and will be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an amazing Italian restaurant just outside of San Juan Tecomatlan. I believe they are only open on the weekends. They had fantastic food and their portions were enormous. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place.

Set "out in the sticks," about seven miles east of Chapala, Focaccia is a small, family-run pizzeria/pastaria.
But while the remoteness of this location may be a turn-off for some folks, this restaurant is well worth driving a few minutes out of your way.
The property itself is an eclectic mix of traditional artwork and assorted global memorabilia. Sevice is extremely welcoming, though things can get a little slow at peak times due to the limited number of family members available to staff the place.
The food here is frankly outstanding, with the pizza being one of the best I've had in recent times and the salad being both extremely fresh and huge in size.
In fact, portions here are basically gigantic, so be prepared to take a box home.
Prices are EXTREMELY fair, given what's on offer.
Highly recommended...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place, huge portions and funky vibes. The decorations are incredible! Nice spacious outside deck with views of the lake and their fantastic landscaping. Then there's the food. Did I mention huge portions? Some of us needed TWO doggie bags aka 'para llevar'.
