★ ★ ★ ★ ★ this is our favorite place in Zona/Emiliano Zapata! I went alone when I was in PV in the fall and took all my friends back in February - they were floored! Best authentic Mexican food I've had including other "authentic Mexican" spots all over PV. Simple ingredients, incredible flavor. Taught me to love Mole, and the breakfast there is equally delicious. We had a hard time not returning there for most of our meals out. Unbelievable affordable. Staff is excellent. Trying hard to keep the word out about this place because I want them to thrive! They deserve it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hidden gem in a tourist town. We walked past it so many times on our way to the market in the morning. Finally we decided to go there for dinner. It's really good Mexican food without all the loud music or street performers/vendors. A breath of fresh air, really. Delicious food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just stopped in for breakfast after shopping at the mercado. French toast with bacon & eggs - simple but perfect. And a banana smoothie to go with it. Delightful. I'll be back for lunch or dinner. Staff is super friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We’ve been coming to PV for years and have been to a lot of the great restaurants here but just discovered Fonda el Cucon today. It was wonderful. If you want an authentic Mexican experience and just a bit off the beaten path check this place out. The Chile relleno was great as was the tortilla soup. My wife had the enchiladas suizas and thoroughly enjoyed as well. I’ll be back Fonda el Cucon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow! The most amazing aguachile and enchiladas. Sauces so good we had to drink it at the end. Also some of the best guacamole I've ever had. Great staff and friendly customers. You've got to check out this little neighborhood gem

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cash only. The service was great and I enjoyed sitting outside to eat. Chips and salsa was included (which isn’t always the case in the touristy restaurants of PV). It was nice to be off the beaten path and to see locals dining in the restaurant. I had super high expectations based on the reviews… and while the food was good, it wasn’t great. The flavor was good, but not outstanding. The presentation was beautiful and it was still a nice evening out.
