★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They are scammers. Basically they lures you with low price and once you show up they add crazy fees and mandatory insurance to rip you off. Avoid at all cost.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rent from any other company but these people. A $160 rate on Priceline turned into almost $600 after they took us on the shuttle to their office, made us wait 45 minutes for service, and then way over-charged us for the compulsary insurance. You're much better off dealing with a more reputable rental agency that is located at the airport and will be transparent about all the charges up front, and you'll get better and faster service. I read the awful reviews beforehand but thought I could outsmart them and get a letter from my credit card company about the provided coverage, but it did me no good and I was in no position to play hard ball once they had me at their office far from the other renewal agencies. This is an awful company that deserves to fail.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ TLDR: Absolutely the worst experience ever. Total scam.
* when you arrive, a long line
* there is no car that you reserved, but "they have it at some other location and can get you a so-called taxi" (no, you should not take the bus, we will get you a taxi)
* then "yes, you have full insurance coverage via your card, but still you have to pay twice more for the insurance coverage or we will reserve $15000 on your credit card"
* we lost 2 hours. good that we looked through other reviews before coming and did not use the services of these scammers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beware they will overcharge you way above the prices quoted online and will make you put down a deposit between 1300 and 30000 if you don't take their overpirzed insurance. I showed them the prices fox has online after I had overplayed and they would not cancel the reservation to give me the quoted prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They force you to buy extras to get the vehicle after taking you to the office in their shuttle so it is difficult to leave, especially late at night. The car was 5x the upfront cost paid to Expedia once all was said and done with the required fees alone. Never again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DO NOT rent a car from them! They are a total scam! I was quoted $76 from priceline for my reservation, they charged me over $300. They said I had to get insurance, when their own website states insurance is optional. Upon return, they tried to pin every mark on the car on me when the video and photos I had taken showed otherwise. record the whole interaction with the agents so you have video of what they say to you. After, I returned the car, they still charged me another $100.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BEWARE!! I would give a 1/4 star if I could! After landing in Cancun, not only had our flight been delayed 45 minutes, we were shuffled by bus from the plane from one end of the tarmac to the other- then sent into the absolute insanity of immigration. We stood with thousands of others in complete chaos, waiting our turn. We finally made it through immigration and waited another hour for our luggage…..
By this point it had been 3 hours since we touched the ground in Mexico. We found the Fox shuttle and went to get our rental car. **I had booked through Expedia, for $92 for the entire week and $88 for the extra collision insurance for the week**
Once I entered the trailer (aka main office) all 3 employees were with other customers. One customer left and it was now my turn. The employee asked for my reservation/itinerary number. He quickly told me he had “bad news” because I was more than one hour late, they no longer had the car…… then went onto say he had a minivan we could rent for $220/day (even though their parking lot was overflowing with standard sedans, all identical to what we had reserved) After that, he told me we could pay outright but needed a deposit on my CC for the “cost of the vehicle” which was $10,500 US…..
He also told me that I “should’ve called
Expedia if you knew you were going to be late” and told me that I would not be refunded for the insurance! We were furious, and left. Two of the other three sets of customers who had been helped prior to me walking in also left upset, without vehicles.
Now we were carless, angry, and needed a shuttle BACK to the airport to figure out a plan B. This company should NOT be backed by Expedia. I would warn every single person if I could. In fact, I made sure to tell two incoming families to beware, and wished them luck.
This screamed scammers to myself and two friends. We absolutely felt like they were trying to take advantage of us and that they do this everyday.
DO NOT RENT FROM FOX IN CANCUN!!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ TLDR: Total Scam / Grift. Avoid.
Fox/Europcar...Wish I could go into the negative values with stars...
Booked via Expedia with insurance package. Like for many others reviewers, once arrived, a bossy guy told be that my insurance package wasn't accepted and that I should pay USD 1500$+ just for the insurance. After 20min of rough negotiations, I managed to reduce it to 370$...Still more than double the price "all included" sold by Expedia, and my whole vacation leisure budget gone. Not even sure how this is legal.
