En 1969, derivado de la construcción de la línea 1 del Metro, se requirió modificar el terreno y así surgió esta plaza; donde se instaló un monumento al Licenciado Francisco Primo de Verdad y Ramos, reconocido por sus pensamientos que ayudaron a la concepción de la Independencia.
Formerly known as the Plazuela de la Paja or Plazuela de Jesús, due to its proximity to the hospital of the same name.
In 1969, derived from the construction of line 1 of the Metro, it was required to modify the land and thus this plaza emerged; where a monument was installed to the Graduate Francisco Primo de Verdad y Ramos, recognized for his thoughts that helped the conception of Independence.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un monumento a uno de los mayores héroes nacionales olvidados, el abogado Francisco Primo de Verdad y Ramos quien dio su vida por sus ideales. Es posible visitar esta placita ubicada en República del Salvador y Pino Suarez, frente al Museo de la Ciudad de México, es bastante accesible pues se puede llegar sin problemas caminando desde el zócalo, o desde cualquier metro que llegue a la zona céntrica. Es pequeña pero agradable y da al corredor de los libros entre los Metros Pino Suarez y Zócalo.
A monument to one of the greatest forgotten national heroes, the lawyer Francisco Primo de Verdad y Ramos who gave his life for his ideals. It is possible to visit this square located in the Republic of Salvador and Pino Suarez, in front of the Museum of Mexico City, it is quite accessible because it can be easily reached by walking from the zócalo, or from any metro that reaches the downtown area. It is small but pleasant and faces the book runner between the Metros Pino Suarez and Zócalo.
