Fred's | The best seafood in Cancun - 77500 Cancún

I saw this place while visiting Cancun because we really wanting some fresh seafood. The reviews were great but I guess we came too late because although the restaurant, the ambiance and the servers were amazing, the food was really overcooked. For the appetizers, we ordered the mussels and the coconut shrimp. Presentation was beautiful but the shrimp were horribly overcooked. They advised the kitchen was closing around 11 something so for dinner we just got one entree which was the grilled lobster tail with garlic butter. Again, the presentation was beautiful ? but that lobster broke our hearts it was so overcooked we had to send it back. I definitely suggest trying this restaurant but don't go after 10pm. Also, the margarita was wonderfully made ? Great place to check out and celebrate a birthday ?

Food was really good, and the views are amazing. Only thing that kept it from a 5 star review was the lack of speed for the food. Just over 90 minutes from sitting down till we finished a fish sandwich and the fish and chips. Again, both tasted excellent, and were really good portions.

Absolutely stunning spot right across the street from our resort. Service was top notch right from the start and continued until we left. Loved the special cocktail prepared at our table and served in a real coconut with Fred's stamped on it....very cool. First time eating fish that was served whole...took me back for a moment but loved it. And the DJ seemed to read our minds and played everything we love. Very romantic evening on the water... beautiful sunset view.

Husband got sick from the fish special, I enjoyed my salmon meal (a bit dry) though and the lobster taco app was very tasty. Lobster bisque was also good. Mashed potatoes were very tasty. The drinks were also great. I think it was the chili on his fish that made him sick.

I liked the place, good service, clean place, prices are so so. The food wasn’t exceptional but was tasty, really flavorful. They have a lot of options for your cravings. The quality of the dishes is really nice.

We had an amazing dinner at Fred’s House… service was impeccable. I can’t say enough about the staff who were so attentive and pleasant! The food was delicious and so were the cocktails. We will definitely be back and recommend this to everyone.

This was one of my favorite restaurants when visiting Cancun. To start, the service was great. The waiters were very attentive and so nice. The atmosphere was also really romantic and cute. We sat outside near the water. The food was also amazing for such a great price!! It was very fresh and well made. We ordered the lobster bisque, crab cake, crabby patty and flamed crispy coconut shrimp. All of the food was well prepared and they give generous portions. We were so full but struggled to try to finish because it was so good. I highly recommend and would gladly go back on my next trip to Cancun.

Very nice location option, part of a bigger restaurant group. The main reason to go there is the very well done ambiance, with a DJ, tons of show cooking and sparklers going around on top of the food. The service is very good and attentive, surprisingly not overwhelmed by tourists, and always willing to work with a smile. They are knowledgeable about the food and were always smiling. The food, as expected, is not gonna be the best or most flavorful around, as it happens in chain restaurants. But it certainly hits the spot and takes away the craving of a nice ceviche. It is worth to mention that the food really takes some time to arrive.
