If you ever wanted to try good mezcal this is the place for you, we will take you to one of the best and most traditional bar of Oaxaca with a very nice staff and a very comfortable and happy atmosphere, where can you get this much fun for this price?!
The experience includes 10 half-shots of mezcal and mezcal based liquors that during your time with us our guide will explain the history of mezcal, since it was first produced by the native cultures of Mexico, its change during the Spanish conquest and how it is produced today.
With every taste your guide will let you know the specifications of every single sample, like the place where it is produced, the ageing period, the spices used to obtain a certain specific flavour and even what wood was used for the barril that hold that mezcal.
After that you can choose to leave the bar but we are almost sure you will want to stay and keep having fun!

Subsequently on another day we also took their Street Food tour for $200 pesos per person ....Elizabeth was our fabulous guide. Equally amiable, loved her job, and knowledgeable. Achilles the gentleman who manages this program came to meet us personally at the Catedral as Elizabeth’s previous tour was running a little late and wanted to reassure us not to leave disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DO NOT BOOK the Day of the Dead tour! We have been backpacking for the last 6 months and this is the first time we feel compelled to write a harsh review. From the beginning the experience was uncomfortable and disorganized. We met at 830pm and were walked to our van, where we were packed in as tightly as possible. Then we were made to sit there for 20 minutes while two other vans were packed. Of the 5 hour tour we had no idea we would end up spending 3 hours of it sitting in the van, much of it by the side of the road waiting, as the policy seemed to be all vans must travel together. We were driven to 2 different cemeteries in little communities outside Oaxaca, with no explanation or guidance about where we were going or why. If it weren't for Google maps on our phones we would have been completely lost. Unlike the tour description, we had no guide, so no information was given about the traditions, customs or locations, and the promised mescal never appeared. We could have had a much better, more comfortable, and cheaper experience if we had just hired a taxi or driver to take us. When we complained as a group we were told there was nothing that would or could be done. We can't get back the 5 hours of our time or our money, but hopefully we can save someone else from this painful experience!

It was my 1st full day in Oaxaca City so I figured it was a good way to get a feel for the historic center. Raul speaks excellent English so no problems there. He took me to some cool galleries where I bought a small painting and a bunch of tee shirts from a local artist. He also took me to a taco joint that doesn't have a name and I had a terrific and inexpensive taco cerdo. Damn it was good!! He explained the history of the indigenious people of the region, the political unrest Oaxaca has experienced through the years which was interesting. It is expressed through the street art you run across. If you have a few hours to spare book a tour! 2 Thumbs up."

The tour lasts about 2 hours and is very informative about the architecture, history, and food of Oaxaca. The guide was also very good about answering the plethora of questions about Oaxaca, some just general "How do I . . ?" questions.
