Fresh Market - 77766 Tulum

Expensive place, if in need of something last minute then possibly but the grocery stores are close take the extra trip.

I went in here to buy water and the place smelled like vomit. Really gross and not what I would call "fresh"

Don't be confused that this might be the Fresh Market you may be familiar with in the US. Those is actually a small, bodega-style store with a limited selection. There is a small prepared food counter at the back, with 10-15 offerings -- pasta, roasted chicken, fajitas, ribs, rice, roast veggies, etc. Nothing we tried was bad, but nothing was memorable either. The TRICK of this place is that the prices are all listed per 100 ml. I'm not accustomed with that serving size, and as a result we paid about 400 pesos (~$20) for 6 chicken wings, a cup of rice and a cup of peppers and onions. MUCH mute More than I was expecting.

Good local convenience store, you can find practically everything you might have forgotten to buy at the supermarket. It’s a lot more expensive but that’s why it’s a convenience store. You can also find a little deli inside they sell Italian cheeses by the weight like pecorino and burrata. And a little snack/catering counter to buy simple fresh cooked food. (Don’t expect too much but when everything is closed it does the job!) Staff is super wary with the COVID rules! Don’t forget your mask haha

I normally don't do this but I didn't want to leave a bad review. I reached out to this store first about what I experienced and they never responded so I will review now. I had just got to tulum and at 10:30 pm after travelling for 14 hours, I went to your store to buy water and food but they wouldn't let me in even though Google says the store closes at 10:45. The security guard convinced the cashier to let me buy water and she screamed at me the entire time, she kept pointing at her watch and screaming at me and I asked her why she was so mad at me. Its my first 5 minutes in tulum and she is treating me like garbage. Is the rest of tulum going to be like this? I gave her 200 MXN to pay for water and bananas (the only things i bought because it was so stressful being there) and she was so mad rolling her eyes and complaining to her colleague. I was very uncomfortable. I won't be going back because I was treated so bad. Zamarket is down the street and they are the sweetest souls.

Avoid this market. Prices are ridiculously high. I picked up a 20L bottle of water 3 weeks ago, they charged me the deposit (100 pesos) I am ok with that. Today I went to return it since my vacation is over, they said they don’t refund the deposit and she wanted to keep the bottle.... Definitely won’t get back there ever... common sense, you take a deposit, you should refund it when you return an empty bottle.

Don't buy your water here. Water delivery services charge 37 pesos for a giant jug of water and this place used to charge around 60 (both assuming you return your jug), like two months ago. They upped their price to like 120 pesos per jug, even with returns. Total scam margins. Recommend looking elsewhere for water until they bring their prices down.

Convenient location in Aldea Zama with a nice hot food deli. Not a huge selection of groceries and a little pricey but they have the essentials that you need for a few days. Workers helpful and provided boxes for us to carry our groceries in.
