★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Desde que tengo memoria esta esta fuente, aunq casi nunca está en funcionamiento como fuente deberían habilitar la más seguido,de ahí en más uno de los pocos lugares q reconozcan a este personaje o su autor que fue parte de la niñez de muchos padres o abuelos actuales.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Es una fuente ya un poco desgastada, pero es un punto referente en la ciudad. Aunque recientemente fue restaurada, el vandalismo y ignorancia de la comunidad ha dejado estragos en esta pieza peculiar.
En 1979 León estrenó su zona peatonal en las primeras cuadras del centro histórico y en sus plazas de “Los Mártires del 2 de Enero” y “Fundadores”. A finales de los años ochenta, el gobierno municipal colocó en la calle 5 de Mayo una escultura alusiva a Cri Cri, un personaje de fantasía del compositor de canciones infantiles, Francisco Gabilondo Soler. Con un violín entre sus manos, con ojos expresivos y con vivaces antenas, el grillo cantor ha sido mudo testigo del paso de leoneses que, generación tras generación, han vivido y convivido con Cri Cri.
