About Fundación En Vía
Our microfinance tour is our most popular tour. It will take you into two communities approximately 30-60 minutes outside of Oaxaca to meet women who are ready for their next En Vía microloan. Each of the women we visit will present her project – whether it is weaving rugs or raising chickens, selling flowers or making tortillas – and explain what she has done with past loans, and what she plans to do with subsequent loans. You will hear about the projects, learn about their community, and have a chance to ask any questions you may have about how it all works. A delicious lunch at an En Vía entrepreneur’s business or home will provide you with an authentic taste of Oaxacan cuisine.
Our Microfinance tours run every Thursday and Saturday.
Tour Cost:$60 USD per person – lunch and transportation included.
We also offer private tours for those who would like to book a tour for a private group and/or outside of our regular tour schedule.
Private Tour Cost: $70 USD per person - lunch and transportation included.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place provides micro finance loans to women in outlaying communities to start businesses to support their families. The money is made by offering tours to these villages to see the businesses. Well worth supporting when in Oaxaca.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was an interesting tour and I recommend it as an alternative since the money earned us used to help women. With that said, the tour is a bit long and can be improved to convey the purpose of the program while still being entertaining and engaging. The best woman on our tour was the last and we almost didn't have enough time for her.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This non profit, En Via, does amazing work helping Oaxacan women start their own business. Join their full day tour to the villages close by, transportation, an excellent guide, and a delicious lunch is provided, at very low cost. Your donation helps with funding loans to the local women.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Truly an unforgettable experience. This is an incredible organization that makes microloans to women entrepreneurs in the indigenous villages around Oaxaca. I went on one of their tours, and had the opportunity to meet some of the women in their program. It was truly inspiring to hear the stories of these women--who are working so hard, who face tremendous obstacles, and yet who are filled with such hope and joy. The tour guides were super helpful, and everything was very well organized. This is something that simply must be on your list if you're visiting Oaxaca.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most interesting and inspiring experience I had in Oaxaca! And that is saying a lot because it is an incredible place to visit! The six hour tour I took on July 18, 2019 flew by as the skilled guides explained the powerful structure of accountability, creativity and organization they use to give small, no interest loans to women collectives (of three) to grow their small businesses (restaurants, bakeries, weaving, etc) and support their families plus communities. A “must” for anyone interested in learning how small steps can be taken to form a more independent and equitable planet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This tour was so inspiring and impactful for my husband and me. The very knowledgeable guides took us to the living/working places of three incredible women artists/small business owners where we learned not only about their work but also about how En Via supports these women with small (tiny!) no interest loans so that they can grow their businesses and learn good, solid information about how to run a small business. Theses women were inspiring because they have done so much with so little and they are growing their successful businesses to support their families AND their communities. Oh! And not to mention we had lunch at the first place we stopped (an organic farm that has been able to expend and add a patio dining experience) and it was amazing! This tour is definitely a must-do!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We took a wonderful tour with En Via yesterday, and visited with women who received micro loans to start small businesses. The tour fees support the program. Such a fun and informative day! Highly recommend...
