Gamma Campeche Malecón - 24000 Campeche

Excellent shower, spacious room, view of the roundabout of the ring road along the sea side (called Malecon) and swimming pool from the balcony. Good location on the Malecon (beautiful sunset) and very close to the center (Calle 59) with all the cozy eateries there. Spacious swimming pool with enough beds and service for drinks. Good WiFi. From the outside the hotel looks good. When we arrived around 3:00 PM, the pool was already in the shade. Almost everything inside is outdated. You notice this especially when you sit on something or walk around the hallway. The carpet is loose, dated interior, sagging benches in the lobby, there are stray dirty glasses in the hallway, etc. At this hotel the thought came to me: please let a team of plasterers and joiners fix up the place for a few weeks, because this is really no longer possible in 2022. The Nespresso machine did not function. The reception is very impersonal, it is completely behind glass like at a counter, no one asks how your trip was or anything like that. At the pool we ordered a few drinks and guacamole with nacho chips. This was truly the worst guacamole we have ever tasted, yuck so dirty watery, really an insult to Mexican cuisine. Cocktails pricey and disappointing, too bad. When a group of young people came to the pool and turned on a speaker with their own music, nothing was said by staff. The hotel is noisy, you can hear people talking and stuff. Curtains cannot close well and light on balcony stays on till midnight or something. You can only use the safe with the help of key reception, which was not mentioned at check in. Old worn out towels. Don't come too late because then all the parking spaces are overcrowded, think that people park here illegally to walk into the city because 100m away you have to pay for parking.

Not sure how many of the rooms have been remodeled but ours definitely was not! Comfy bed and good hot water supply but WiFi was weak and intermittent and I could hear tiles being chipped off the wall (from a room being upgraded presumably) at 3am in the morning. Bring your own Nespresso capsules as they only supply one! ?

Looks nicer on the outside than it is in your room. Hot water didn't work and bugs were on the floor, the bed wasn't very comfortable. The food downstairs was fine although as an American I was pretty disappointed with the in house pizza. We won't stay here again

The location is good, rooms have views and are clean. The lobby is modern, but rooms are *very* dated, with dingy bathrooms and tired fittings. The A/C didn't work. If returning to Campeche we would stay elsewhere, unless the rooms are refurbished!

Although the hotel looks quite modern in the Lobby, the rooms are super old and worn down. They need a renovation urgently! I think nothing happened in the room since the 1960s, and also the cleaning wasn't very good. Lot of dust all over the furniture. Wouldn't pay this price again for such a room. Rooms are a huge disappointment and not in the condition shown on the official pics!

It's fine for a chain hotel. The staff were friendly. We paid extra for a Superior Room but the view wasn't that great, which was a shame because the place wasn't exactly full.

Here's in 2018..got good service and room requested. This time rude and non caring reception..didn't care what you requested...asked for 3rd floor but gave us 1st floor room above restaurant...can smell stinky fried food starting early morning..can hear traffic outside and music from the pool and bar and neighbors shower, toilet, moving things, talking...very noisy couldn't sleep..hard for light sleeper..worst bathroom very small and dirty. Balcony has no privacy..you practically can walk into other room on first floor thru balcony..honestly I 'D rather had a room on 3rd floor than 1st floor with Oceanview. Restaurant food also not good like used to be in 2018..poor quality for the price..old buns hard dry from reheating in microwave..my meal was horrible very dry fish...Very sad quality of this place has gone down...Will not return again..If you are foreigner tourists, TV only has in Spanish language..you cannot change to original language.

Great location a few steps from the historic town. The pool is quiet and there is even a gym on the 1st floor. The view from the room is a welcoming bonus! Our room was very clean and comfy. The people who complain about the hotel being dated should either pay more or go to some place else. Campeche is not a resort town anyways!
