★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My fiance and I are in the midst of getting our Open Water Certification here. I was certified under NAUI 25ish years ago but never did anything with it and she'd never been diving (until we both did a discovery dive) so we're both pretty new the diving, though I've had limited experience long ago. I cannot express how thorough dive instructor Jimmy has been. Light years more comprehensive and patient than I recall my prior training being. Everything paced at your pace and not a minute faster.
Can't wait to return for more diving and specialties!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently obtained my Open Water scuba diver certification and computer nitrox certification in San Carlos Mexico. Our group used Gary's dive shop for all of our dives all weekend long. The boat was in very good shape and crew was very attentive to all of our needs. They served food on Saturday and Sunday on the boat which was very good. I highly recommend Gary's Dive Shop for all your scuba diving and snorkeling needs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't understand why the reviews are so low for this place. We had a fantastic fishing and snorkeling trip and the staff was attentive, courteous, and hospitable. The "best fish tacos in the world" were truly delicious. Gary himself is an absolute professional and runs a great business. We were very impressed!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ both Gary and Donna are very personable. Dive trip was good with 2 dives around Catalina Island. Lots of rays and a few morays. Dives were enjoyable and the crew took care of us well. Recommend and will return.
Gary - btw i have noticed an improvement on my fuel economy upon placing your store decal on my car. Thanks for the tip!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been on Gary's combo tour twice, where you fish and snorkel. I've had amazing experiences both times. When I went in 2006, we snorkeled with sea lions at San Pedro island, I caught a shark, and at the end of the day, we were escorted home at sunset by a pod of HUNDREDS of dolphins. They're not lying when they say these are the best fish tacos in the world - you can't get any better than eating a fish you just caught a half hour ago! Truly one of the most memorable experiences of my life! I just went again last week, and had an equally amazing time. My friends went on a one tank scuba dive while I snorkeled. They have been on over forty dives all over the world and said this was one of the best they'd been on.

It was one of the greatest times we have ever had. Gary himself was there informing us of where and how our trip would go. He is a great guy and has been here from the U.S. since 1971. He knows the area very well and will take care of any your open ocean needs. The crew was fantastic. They were very knowledgeable and showed us the greatest spots of San Carlos. We got to see Dolphins right up at the boat and a fabulous sunset. If you get the chance to come here. Definitely see Gary's dive shop.
