Gecko Rent a Car - 48335 Puerto Vallarta

Gecko is as seamless as a process as you can ask for. The car we rented was clean, reliable, and very new. The process was very straight forward and easy. There is a 8,000 peso authorization requirement to complete the car rental. (Roughly $400 USD.)

GREAT car rental service! Really affordable and straightforward on pricing and love that insurance was included in the daily rate. Ended up paying $300 for 6 days use for a Yaris which was great and handled nearby roads well even when they were bumpy / dirt roads. Only inconvenience was getting to the car rental location from the airport since their office isn't there. Had to take a taxi (they covered the cost and helped arrange it) but was a bit of a pain getting to the desk / figuring out which one it was since the hoard of pushy sales people you encounter leaving the airport will straight up lie to you and say they're Gecko to get you to talk with them. But that's more of an airport issue than an issue with Gecko. Either way, loved renting from them and will definitely use again the next time I'm in PV!

Rented the car for 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year. Everything was as promised. Detailed instructions before arriving. Very friendly people. Price as promised, very clean new car. Perfect experience. Will use again if visiting PV, for sure.

Best car rental experience I’ve ever had. The employees were kind and helpful. The car was nicer than my own car at home! I wish the big rental companies were more like Gecko.

I don't usually write reviews, but am this time because Gekho is the best car rental company I have ever rented from. I give full credit to Beto, who must work every day because every time I emailed Gecko, it was Beto who answered immediately. And every time I called, I was able to talk to Beto. The car was great, the communication was excellent, and I liked that the price was stated in advance and covered everything including tax, airport fee, insurance, etc. I had no problem with the car, but I did have a problem because my Aeromexico flight was cancelled several hours before take off (with so many pilots Covid positive, the airline couldn't operate and many flights were cancelled.) I couldn't get another flight home and needed to find a place to stay at the last minute. WIth so much confusion I forgot to call Gecko, but fortunately Beto called me and we arranged for a new car for me at the last moment. He was very helpful and very understanding. Thank you.

I rented cars from Gecko for 5 years. Always very recent models with low miles at an excellent price. 3 years ago I bought a Toyota Rav 4 with 14km milage for a great price. Now I use their storage service. They have my car at the airport when I arrive and pick it up when I leave. Wonderful service from honest people..

This place is WORTH THE HYPE. Probably the best car rental experience I've had anywhere. Lightning fast friendly private shuttle from the airport. The car was clean, new, and all ready to go. The staff were really friendly and walked us through quirks of driving in Mexico. The fee is the whole fee, no hidden charges or taxes or insurance. And the BEST part is that for the return you can bring the car back with less than a full tank, and someone from Gecko will hop in the car, drive you to the gas station where you can get gas, and then they will drive you to the airport and drop you off - all for free. Amazing!!

5 stars all around! We have rented cars in Mexico many times and have always felt so scammed by the corporate rental agencies. Gecko made it so easy and they were transparent from the start. When we arrived, they gave us the exact price they originally quoted us for. All required insurances and fees were already included in the price so it took the headache out of trying to make sure we were properly covered. We brought a soft surf rack with us that the employees even helped us load onto our car! From the airport, the FREE VIP shuttle carried our 10-foot long surf bag for no charge and when it came to returning the vehicle at the end of our stay, instead of moving our surfboards from our car into a return shuttle, an employee simply hopped in our rental with us and personally drove us to the airport so we wouldn't have to bother moving the bulky boards to another vehicle. They were also kind enough to let us split our final balance between Pesos, US Dollars, and a credit card so we wouldn't have to carry all of our travel cash home with us. Their facility is comfortable and has wifi and filtered drinking water. Now that we know about Gecko, we will never use another company when visiting the PV area again!
