Gitano Beach - Zona Costera

Very lovely staff, crazy expensive prices (as per all of Tulum!) but good vibes and we had a lovely day here. Way more chilled than the beach clubs on the main beach front (Bagatelle etc). Would recommend but only if you've got deep pockets.

High expectations and BIG disappointment! After 4 amazing days in the beach clubs in Tulum, I got FIRST beach club that I just want to leave as soon as possible. Why? Here is it : 1. 118 dollars for a sun bed WITHOUT SUN UMBRELLA. You can see in my picture that half of the clients don’t have sun umbrella and the sun was very strong. Try to negotiate with the club, the answer is always that they don’t have sun umbrellas anymore and they can do nothing. How don’t you anticipate those essential equipments in a beach club? 2. We made a reservation and payed online the day before. 2 friends who arrived 1 hour before us told us that the club said if we don’t show in 15 minutes, they will give our sun bed to other people who want to pay double price. Never heard about this kind of thing in any corner of the world… so you can see how professional they are … 3. We have 50 dollars of consumption so that we eat two salads in the restaurants. The service in the restaurant was so slow and badly organized (about 20 employees crossing constantly through). After one hour waiting we finally got our 2 salads which are tasteless. THE BEST FOR THE END : after 15 minutes of waiting for the check, the stuff asked us to pay the food as EXTRA because it is the rush hours in the restaurant. 4.We ordered some food on the sun bed which have never come or come with the wrong food. 5.So many alga on the beach, if you want a pure white sand beach, it is not for you. One positive thing: the music was strong but with a good taste. If you want to just relax, it may not be the place. My point is that the management and organisation really need some big improvements!!!

It’s a beautiful little spot. Valet parking (included, tip expected), and nice location. Food, we had tacos (excellent) and a burger (unique, very good, but luke -warm and mealy French fries). The wait staff was very nice, too. But why charge $120USD cover charge for a beach chair at a beach you can’t even swim at? Mountains of seaweed which some poor people in kind of a Sisyphus task tried to remove to no avail. Blows my mind. When asked why the charge was so high the explanation was that there is a DJ. And there was, just not one I would pay money for. Food and drinks are hopelessly overpriced, I mean there is no reason you should be charged over 100 pesos for a Corona beer, is there? Or the burger at over 500? May be at night and at a “club”, but at 2pm there just no club experience provided to justify that. Kind of a shame, really, because I would return for the location and set-up. And may be the seaweed mountain was just seasonal?

The Greek salad and Mexican burger stood out. The jungle fever cocktail was the best balanced and delightful cocktail I had in the whole of Mexico. It’s expensive, but my favourite beach club or all the ones I went to. Beautiful secluded part of the beach so you feel like you’re on your own private island. They have beach beds which are very comfortable and play chill beach music.

We loved our time at Gitano Beach. The location is perfect - a private beach in a small cove. The club had great drinks and food. We had many many “Kissing in the Car”… Mezcal. To top it off, they play a really great mix of nu-disco… we made new friends while there and stayed well into the evening. Check it out for yourself! Thanks to the Gitano crew for a great two days with awesome service.

Had a crazy nice time here and the service was amazing one thing I was surprised by was the quality of the pizza we recieved which was not anywhere near the rest of the food but overall ghis place ia a gem with a super nice beach and some amazing views and live dj to relax and dine. The service and staff were super kind helpful and friendly. If you are in Tulum this is one of the best beach clubs without a doubt.

Gitano Beach has fun atmosphere, super loud music, nice drinks, good food, friendly staff, and average service. I ordered a few items on the menu, and everything arrived at the same time. Normally appetizers arrive before the main course.

Beautiful location and good drinks, but the price felt absurd. This place would be nice for dinner where there is no minimum spending, but we had to pay $100 minimum per person for the lounge chairs, plus added 20% gratuity, and 3% fee if paying by credit card that was not mentioned at the entrance. The staff were kind and patient, they regularly removed any sargassum from the beach, service was quick and the music had a cool vibe. Overall I'd recommend the location if you are ok spending that much money.
