★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great little food stand off the main tourist area. They do mostly a takeout business for the local businesses but there's some stools and a table under an awning that will seat probably 3 people. Whenever I've been there, we were the only ones "eating in". They don't serve drinks but there's a great grocery store right next door where you can get just about anything. The gorditas are made fresh from thick tortillas made to order. The *guisos* come in all the usual varieties: egg with salsa (although they run out of that by about 10:30), chicharron, pulled pork (*deshebrada*), chopped steak, beans, nopal, ...). Very rich flavor. Some spicy, some not. If you want the real local experience without the tourist crowds, this is your place.
