Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort & Spa - 77780 Akumal

This resort is one of the best resorts we have been to. This place is so Grand and beautiful. The staff and accommodations deserves a perfect 10. This resort is well maintained and the food is amazing. Unlimited amount of food choices at the buffet and the waiters are on point with their service and so attentive. There are so much to see and do at this resort. You will never be bored. Nightly entertainment, pool activities, lazy river, lunch on the beach and so much more. Family friendly. I highly recommend this resort. We love this place so much we became a member of their Ultimate Leisure Club. ❤

Best experience of my life. My husband and i celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary here and it was beyond what I could have ever expected. The food buffets were so great and had SO many options. The drinks were AMAZING. The amenities were endless! Although we didn't bring our kids this time, it is kid friendly. The spa is an absolute MUST! We will most certainly be coming back!

Fan-freaking-tastic. So much about this place was amazing. We have 4 children ages 4-14 and never were they bored. From the lazy river, to the hammocks in the trees, to the poolside drunken games, there is something for everyone. Some might complain there is lots of walking, I loved that it forced me to get exercises. Oh... and the wildlife and jungle feel of the resort is perfect. I love, love, love this place, and the best part was the affordability, it was hands down the best bang for my buck that I have ever experienced at an all-inclusive.

We stayed here for a week with friends. The amenities, views, and service was excellent. It seems the rooms could stand to be repaired a bit. Corners of furniture were chipped and very worn. The air conditioning was leaking water onto our floor but upon our first request to fix it, they came within minutes and we didn't have another problem. One major area of improvement would be the quality of food. It was good, but not great. Great variety of restaurants on the property and at the buffet, but quality could increase just a bit. We loved the quiet pool and the lazy river. Also highly recommend the spa - we had one gloomy day and spending it while getting a massage and hydrotherapy was excellent. We didn't visit the dolphins but definitely would have if we had our kids with us. Still highly recommend Grand Sirenis!

5 Star Resort with a 5 Star Review. The atmosphere around the entire resort is wonderful, all the restaurants have great food, especially the Steakhouse. Kind and very helpful staff, an array of shops to find souvenirs of your trip and a very quick response from the hotel staff when something isn’t right. When we first arrived, the operation was smooth and speedy, being checked in within minutes, and driven to our room, being guided around the resort as we did so. Once in the room, our toilet wouldn’t flush correctly, however calling the reception they quickly fixed our issue and there hadn’t been a repeat of it since. Everything is included at this resort, so whether you want a drink at the swim up bar, or a snack during the day, there’s never a charge for the fancier restaurants or any of the entertainment. Very highly recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 1 week stay at the Grand Sirenis. I don't have many negative things to say about the resort, so I will start with all the pros. I know there were lots of reviews complaining about bland food and not enough vegetarian options, but I would disagree. The buffets changed daily and I found there was enough vegetarian dishes. If you are strictly vegan though, your options are limited for sure. Overall, there was a great variety of food. Since we stayed a week, we were able to make 3 reservations at the specialty restaurants. We picked Japanese, Mexican, and Thai. Japanese was the best by far and I enjoyed the food and show put on by the chef. The Mexican restaurant didn't have any vegetarian options, which was a bit of a letdown. Make sure to make the reservations with your concierge right away, otherwise you may not get accommodated (especially if you have a larger group). Another amazing thing about this resort is all the wildlife. We saw TONS of coatis, iguanas and lizards, various adorable rodents, monkeys, lots of birds, resident cats, and so much more. The resort also has daily shows at the theatre which are lots of fun! There are daily activities around the resort as well, so there's always something to do. There are tons of options for drinks, and lots of bars around the resort. The coffee shop is a plus as well! We enjoyed the ice cream shop too. Be prepared to do lots of walking though, as the resort is quite big. The spa was so wonderful and was a highlight to our trip. The water therapy is a 1.5 hour visit and totally worth it, very reasonable price at around $400 pesos per person. All of the staff are very hardworking and friendly which was appreciated. Sometimes service can be iffy during the busy times and you may wait awhile for service, but that is understandable. Make sure to tip the workers because they deserve it! My only real complaint is we ran into some trouble with our room, mainly regarding our bathroom. There was one night they must have been doing some work, and I only had scalding hot water coming from the tap. The toilet wasn't great either, as it wasn't able to be flushed multiple times in a short period of time. Some areas of the resort are dated, but overall it is a gorgeous resort and in my eyes it deserves a 5 star review!

We decided to do something different for Christmas this year and go on a trip. We spent a week at this resort and all I can say is how impressed we were! Rooms were spacious and clean, food and drinks were plentiful, and the entire staff - from the concierge to people working the landscaping - were extremely polite and friendly! When we first arrived, some of the hallways were dirty with empty boxes/plates/glasses but after a day being there, it was clear that the staff was doing its best to keep up because the place is absolutely huge!!! Plenty of activities to keep people busy if they needed something to do, but we are beach people and what a beautiful beach. A lot more rocky than I expected but the water was beautiful and the snorkeling was awesome. Seeing monkeys and other wildlife was an added bonus. Evening shows at the theatre were a treat and quite enjoyable. It's a bummer that the resort is an hour's drive from the airport, but definitely worth the drive!! All I can say is THANK YOU from me and my family for making this year's Christmas one we will always remember.

this resort is absolutely gorgeous, very clean. Customer service was great as well. The ONLY complaint I have is the food, this is would be the deal breaker for me to come back. I thought maybe the other reviews the had the same complaint was just picky people but when they say it is bland, IT IS BLAND! You cannot eat at all the restaurants, they restrict you to so many based on how many days you are there, and if you want to get into any make sure you schedule when you check in or you won't get into any. The Japanese restaurant was very good, Italian was good, not great. The scenery was outstanding, exactly what I hoped for ( nature like and serene). We booked the monkey sanctuary, which was cool! I have one charge on my card for that and another pending ( hoping it will drop off and I wont have to dispute it with the resort but we shall see). If the food was better this would have been 5 star.
