For swimmers out there, some of the best open freshwater to swim in. The property itself was incredible - truly a place to recharge and unwind. Food was amazing - will definitely be back soon.

I really want to give this place 5 stars but unfortunately after a drawn out billing issue I am disappointed in the customer service of Habitas Bacalar. While checking out from our lovely honeymoon stay, we were surprised to receive a huge bill for food, which we had to prove with itemized credit card transactions that we had already paid over $1,000 for. This checkout process set our day back and caused us a lot of stress for the remainder of our honeymoon, and now we apparently still owe $123 because they can’t find proof that we paid. They sent us several texts in broken English that were hard to understand or work with. Super annoying and feels petty given that we spent around $4000 on this property over a few days, this is completely their fault, and they are not offering any sort of gesture to redeem themselves for this very annoying situation they put us in.

It was a unique experience. The view, the energy, and service are outstanding. Made amazing friends too with other couples staying there. Would definitely recommend.

I never write reviews but this time I will make an exception. We received such rude service that I felt demoralized. I love to travel , I go to hundreds of hotels. I cannot believe that the staff treated us do badly. We have a service dog named Piper and we have documents. We were told at first he could not come in. after seeing documents we were told we could enter. As we boarded the golf cart, a very rude lady to old us we were not permitted to enter . Her delivery of this decision made me feel shameful. I am an attorney so I can hold my own. This is why I have made the decision to post about this experience.I also believe that this could be a common problem given that I watched the members of the staff signaling orders with familiarity. I am writing as a warning to fellow travelers so that you have right expectations about this place.

We had a terrible experience with a big rat like animal entering the habitacion we slept in and molesting our clothes (see pictures). Even though the company acknowledged there was a construction error in the tent, we were treated very poorly for a hotel that claims to be top notch. Apparently it’s normal that rats are able to enter the room with the doors being closed - we heard it was not the first time. My advice: don’t go here.

Thank you for a relaxing and grounding getaway. If you are looking to unplug and connect with nature then I recommend escaping to this enchanting jungle resort on the edge of the blue lagoon. No frills, just a breathtaking landscape, organic food and a warm and welcoming staff. Thank you to Dani, Sarah and Dan who made my solo trip exceptional. I especially appreciate the community you are creating in this special destination. I will be back soon!

Habitas Bacalar is definitely a magical place that I would highly recommend. From the moment we entered the gates to the property, you could fill a shift in energy and the staff greets you with welcome arms. From the lagoon and it’s beautiful 7 hues, our accommodations, the food, drinks, morning yoga and amazing staff, this was the perfect experience and chance to disconnect. Great Job Habitas! Let’s all be more conscious of the fragility and importance of the communities that we visit.

Me and my partner spent in total 10 nights at Habitas Bacalar. I enjoyed every aspect of the experience. Already during the check in I felt like the vibe will be what I hoped for. At the end of the little welcome ceremony, I have heard 'Welcome home' and I truly felt like being at a home away from home during our stay. Accommodation delivered 100%, looked exactly if not better like on pictures (I loved the outdoor shower experience!). Every morning we could just take few steps to go straight from our room for a swim in the lagoon. It's been magical and so peaceful. I especially enjoyed the live music on deck on Saturdays and Sundays. Other activities, yoga (for the first time there I tried the aerial one and actually signed up upon return for a regular class back home) , SUP, kayaks were also very well organised. Especial shout out to Breakfasts too! delicious. Thank you Habitas Bacalar and see you somewhere else around the world!
