★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The cream of mushroom and cream of squash flower (?) soups might have been the best we've ever had! Loved all the salsas they provided and the frijoles con queso with the chips. Drinks were very good also. Really neat venue/nice atmosphere even though it's right on the highway. We'll definitely return!

Hacienda El Patrón is one of those roadside restaurants you'll drive past a hundred times before finally stopping at.
However, unlike most of these places, this restaurant is definitely worth driving to. Service is excellent and friendly, and the decor is in the traditional hacienda style. The food is frankly outstanding, with the barbecued lamb being the star of the show.
Prices, too, are fair for what's on offer.
This will become a regular stop on the way back from Guadalajara.
