La Hacienda Alvarado, fue un punto de encuentro de dos personajes de nuestra historia mexicana: Don Agustín de Iturbide en julio en 1821 y Benito Juárez el 5 de julio de 1867 (a su paso hacia la Ciudad de México).
La hacienda Alvarado fue sede de las batallas durante el Sitio de Querétaro en julio de 1867, cuando intervino el Ejército del Noreste, elegida como campamento por ser fuerte “y muy pintoresca”.
