★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was my favorite place we stayed on this trip. I wish we could have stayed more than one night here. It was peaceful and beautiful retreat after being in Merida for a few days. The staff were so kind and helpful and the food at the restaurant was great. You can tell that the staff take a lot of pride in the place. The grounds were beautiful and the room was very comfortable. It is close to Ticul and to Uxmal and would be a great base for exploring ruins and cenotes in the area. It was also a great value for the money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The location is convenient for traveling to nearby sites however the rooms just are not that clean, nor soundproof.
The bathroom completely smelled like stale cigarette smoke and the blanket on my bed smelled like 100 people had touched it after holding roasted pork. You get the idea?
All of this they hope to reset by abundantly spraying massive amounts of Glade room freshener directly on the bed.
If you like intense room freshener smell this is the place for you. Oh, also if you don’t mind listening to your neighbors blaring the TV, again here is you noisy and stinky home away. Ps the tub albeit huge, was filthy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Hacienda Maria Elena is just amazing: beautiful, rooms tastefully decorated and with high standard, the garden and pool gorgeous, the restaurant is good, staff very nice and professional, located in the heart of Ruta Puuc. It is just perfect. Highly recommended!!

The room is very big and clean.
It would be nice to have a small fridge in the room and more towels (for the pool at least).
The restaurant is good but the staff could be a little more aware and faster in the service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of our favorite stays in Mexico. It's in the middle of nowhere so you will likely stop here on your way but it's an amazingly beautiful place. We were especially surprised by the food from the restaurant. Considering how big and varied the menu is, we did not expect the food to be so fresh, tasty and well made, our compliments to the chef! Even though the breakfast we received was very simple it was also very tasty.
We also had an amazing margarita ?
