A very beautiful place, private, full of corners to rest, a delicious menu, I recommend the cherry tea and the meat cuts, to close a delicious goumert bull, according to the owner and own experience "the best in the region" , highly recommended !!

Good place to eat. Currently disjointed with several owners. The museum and the hacienda is owned by one owner. There is another area where they prepare pizza and another with the hotel and the restaurant. You find live music. Excellent landscapes and a path to the waterfall, essential to go with a guide.

Beautiful to look at and nothing more.
We went to the restaurant on a Sunday, a day when the town is full of local tourists. The restaurant was almost empty and we were assigned a table quickly, they gave us the menu. At first the prices seemed high to me but it is common in the town. I ordered a xonequi, which is a typical dish, and some stew tacos, to which they told me they had run out. So I ordered a couple of tamales from the comal. They kindly offered us to go to the comal to eat freshly made tortillas with some kind of sauce and while we were there, they even told us that there were no tamales, so I got upset since it was the second dish that they did not have, despite the fact that their menu is very limited, so I ordered some picadas. As far as the xonequi is not the typical dish, the dough balls were raw so I didn't eat them and at the bottom of the plate there was a kind of stewed chicken that had a good flavor but that definitely wasn't xonequi. A group of approximately 15 people arrived and the waiter forgot about us to the point of saying "oh, if you need anything, talk to me". Even though we talked to him, he forgot about us and I had to go to the griddle twice to ask for tortillas and even the lady at the griddle felt sorry for it. In short, bad experience that will make me not return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous views! The snowcapped volcano in the distance was a particularly lovely surprise after arriving on an overcast day. This hotel is kept very clean, bathrooms comfortable and well stocked, and there is a restaurant and incredibly friendly staff. Note that they're not open on Mondays. Good WiFi and decent cell reception up here as well. The field out back has cows, a horse, herrons and more to observe as you relax in one of the most tranquil places you'll find. The nearby town of Xico is a Pueblo Magico, too, and well worth exploring!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When we arrived before their closing time, we were informed they stopped service. No worries. On our way out, we asked some questions about the property and then a manager insisted we eat and they're happy to accommodate us. Once we ordered, the server returned two times to announce they didn't have guacamole, and another to announce that one of the items we've ordered cannot be made (a fish entry.) Then the server broke the news to us that they only offered 2 things on the menu, molcajete and mole. We ordered both, their beer selection was limited as well as their liquors (one kind of mezcal that didn't taste good.) The mole came out immediately... the chicken breast was dry, the mole wasn't enough, and the food wasn't that hot. The moljacetes came out next and were okay.
After we finished, we tried to pay with a Visa credit card from a popular bank in the United States. The server informed us that they do not accept international credit cards. What???? A group which consisted of three people speaking English and broken Spanish among eachother, obviously not resembling nationals, but never warned beforehand that their credit cards aren't accepted? At a hotel restaurant?? It was a difficult situation as they didn't offer an ATM either. My friend returned to the car to grab cash and pay for the overpriced tab.
Their service and methods are questionable, offering a handful of the items from the menu, not warning us or showing a policy that excluded credit cards, and not providing an alternative way to pay. Their food was lackluster, obviously the mole dish wasn't prepared on the spot, the plate felt hot but the food was cold - it was probably microwaved. The prices were significantly higher than other restaurants in Xico. If you find yourself on the road returning from enjoying the cascada, avoid this restaurant, you'll find much better options in the town with honest services and lower prices.
