The Hacienda Santa Clara Education and Research Center is located in San Miguel de Allende, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. The Center focuses on higher education programs and research. Partnerships with universities, the private and public sectors in our region offer high-impact learning opportunities for faculty-led study abroad programs from Higher Education Institutions in North America and the world. We design custom programs for faculty that connect the international experience with discipline specific content to ensure the desired academic outcomes. Our team manages all the logistics so professors can focus on the academic and cultural components of their trips. We provide faculty support in all aspects of risk management. Thanks to our relationships with the local and state community, we offer field trip opportunities that are both outstanding and affordable for students. The Hacienda Santa Clara is also a member of The Forum on Education Abroad. The Center is completely self-contained, sustainable, with indoor and outdoor classrooms, auditorium, dining areas, dormitories, faculty villas, information technology and WiFi throughout, studios, art galleries, student lounges, a swimming pool, a temazcal, jogging trails, and extensive gardens on a secure, working farm.The campus is a 20 minute drive to the historic center of San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a global arts and cultural destination. Hacienda Santa Clara is the ideal location for the academic focus of programs. We have an extensive menu of day trips to significant sites in our surrounding area, local expert guest lecturers, and community activities. The Center provides 24 hour on-site bilingual support for all faculty-led programs and expert management of academic programs, field study, accommodations, health, safety, and transportation requirements. The Center offers classes in Spanish, art, art history, traditional Mexican cooking, drawing, painting, weaving, and jewelry making. The Hacienda also offers service leadership opportunities with local NGOs and in a rural elementary school, as the Secretariat of Public Education in the state of Guanajuato authorized our participation in their "Adopt a School" program. Our goal is to offer the highest value for investments in education abroad experiences. Additionally, Hacienda Santa Clara hosts professional development conferences, corporate retreats, special events, and weddings. Amenities such as a chapel, dining room, bar, lounges, reception patios and gorgeous gardens provide the perfect setting for weddings and special events, along with the hospitality of our experienced team.
