Antes de admitirlo, la señorita Jimena Fernández Ramírez le dijo a mi suegra en un tono cortante “sabe usted cuánto cuesta tratarse aquí? Es tanto para admitirlo y tanto para estar en terapia intensiva por día.” Se lo repitió varias veces, asumiendo que no lo iba a poder pagar. Mi suegro estuvo 2 semanas en el hospital. Adquirió una infección en los pulmones en el hospital. A pesar de que les dijimos muchas veces que no queríamos que lo entubaran, sabiendo que el 80% de los casos no se recuperan e inclusive bajo la recomendación de otros médicos y una enfermera que lo estaba atendiendo, el Dr. Estrada nos insistió que lo entubáramos. La noche que el doctor le informó a la familia que mi suegro estaba en estado muy delicado, inmediatamente después de salir del cuarto del hospital entraron las señoritas de la caja para darle la cuenta a mi suegra, sin darle un minuto para procesar la información. Al momento de cerrar la cuenta, las senoritas de la caja se rieron descaradamente en nuestra cara cuando les dijimos que la cuenta estaba mal. La señorita Elena Carranza Iturbide en específico. Nos dijeron que ahí no se pierde el dinero y no tenían documentado el pago al que nos referíamos (de nuevo, entre risas). Fuimos a la casa por el recibo para demostrar que en efecto se había hecho el pago del cual se burlaban. Por supuesto, ajustaron la cuenta al darse cuenta de su error.
