Hertz - 77503 Cancún

Terrible costumer service. We had a prepaid reservation and upon arrival they claimed to have no available cars, unless of higher category, for which they asked us to pay. When asking for refund, they claimed it cannot be done at place but via webpage. In general the manager and staff were rude, careless, and didn't take responsibility for their error.

I see a lot of negative reviews but we all have different stories. I was passing by and needed to rent a car went there asked for the cheapest they have they gave me a shevrolet for 30$ a day no extra charges just make sure ask before you go the amount of the local money. Of course take your time when you're checking the car because they like to be fast about that.. just in case take your time and do a good inspection. Overall the guys were fine I would totally recommend a booking here face to face.

WARNING: US Hertz members the Cancun Plaza Las Americas location in Mexico is worst experience of my over 20 years being a Hertz Gold member. They increased the rental rate that I was confirmed online and added insurance charges that I declined. The total for 2 day compact car rental was US $400!!!! Yes, $200 per day for a cheap, ugly compact car!!!! They would not refund any part of this and Hertz corporate (US) says they are unable to help because this is a Hertz Mexico location. BEWARE!

Friendly and helpful staffs. They are patient and accommodating to customers who do not know Spanish. Way cheaper than Enterprise car rentals, at least in Cancun.

This hertz is a scam ! Folks please do not rent a car in Cancun . You won’t need it . Take the ADO bus. And avoid the biggest scam which will run your vacations.

So I booked a car for 6 days 2500MXN. Good deal yes? I physically arrived the day before to confirm only to realise it didn't cover insurance, OK... Insurance was 1780MXN there were other small charges too but in the scheme of things this was still a fair price. About 4500MXN for the 6 days. The lady did try and upsell us to a better car for 400USD but we declined. The next day we're told that the insurance is per day. So now the insurance is 5 times what the car was to rent. The total is now 13000MXN and there are more hidden charges as well as a 300USD hold. So the booking is now about 7X more expensive than my email confirmed price!!!!! The guy in Hertz says that even though "you booked yesterday everything has changed today" I told him we were aware of this businesses negative reviews but wanted to give this place a chance. I regret this decision.

Very bad customer service, i highly recommend other car rental company, We made the reservation 3 weeks in advance, to ensure they will have the car we wanted and they suggested to pay in advance and we did it and when we went to pick up the car they didn’t have available cars, they were rude and i tried to cancel the reservation and they said that if i cancel the reservation i will lose al the money that i had paid.. so if you are looking for a car rental company don’t go to this company look for something else but not this??????

SCAM!!! Don't go there. They offer good price online but will charge you many times more later by forced insurance. Another thing really bad is that they have little tricks to cheat your deposit. For example, they cover the wheel with plastic cover and it's very easy to fall apart. They will charge you a lot when you return them. This is the worst experience in my life renting a car. This hurts Cancun's images badly. I wish Hetz can deal with this seriously.
