Hertz - 70980 Santa María Huatulco

These people try to sell you everything, they're talking about insurance is mandatory when all Hertz corporations already includes the third party liability.

They did the same thing as the other reviewers! We had a reservation at 4pm and they said they had no cars. They said maybe at 4:30pm once the other guest returns it but not sure if they would even return it on time. We already waited for over an hour and they wouldn’t give us another car. Then they just all left to not have to face us! Empty office...

Read the reviews before you book here. Price will increase. I was quoted 2600 pesos and ended up paying 4500 pesos that were in the fine print that I never saw. The person that helped me didn't care about her job and told me to go rent a car elsewhere. She then took a long time with us. She gave us the discount of being able to return the car two hours later. As if that helps when you have a plane to catch.

Hertz reservations is a scam. Once again had confirm reservation for a small car with automatic. After waiting half an hour had only a truck with manual. Much more expensive. Last time they offered us no car at all though we had reservations. Don’t believe anything from hertz, at least in Mexico. Finally had to take a taxi. They are horrible horrible liars.

Terrible service. Made us wait for more than an hour to get a car we were supposed to get when we arrived to the airport. We had a reservation prior to arriving but the lady in front of us with NO reservation got priority over us. I do not recommend this service as this is not the first time this happens.

Arrived on Christmas day to pick up a prepaid car- they said they were out of my model but for an extra $100 per day I could upgrade - this on a $42/day rental. The family next to me paid this fee- what could they do. We asked our reservation to be cancelled- they never sent the cancellation to our travel company and provide no documentation that they initiated the cancellation or that they were charging exorbitant prices.

Very bad service!! Will never do business with hertz again. Told me the car I reserved wasn’t available until 11am but they had a bigger car for $200 a day extra. I told them I would wait until 11am for the car I reserved. 11 came and went 12:30 now and they said they had no cars in available now. So after 2 hrs off waiting I was left stranded at the airport. Would give them a zero if possible.

My wife and I go on vacation to Mexico about once a year. We always rent a car and just as anyone else, we always look for the cheapest rate- as long as the car has four wheels and an engine, we are fine with it. The problem with renting a car in Mexico is that the attendants always try to sell you additional insurance, even though you have already bought it back home when making the reservation. You go to the counter, you show the attendant your confirmation that clearly says that you have purchased all the insurance that you need, and… surprise! – You can’t drive away without buying some obscure additional insurance package that ends up costing you three times the amount of the actual rental. You are frustrated, you feel that they are taking advantage of you, but you just want to get in your car and start enjoying your vacation, rather than waste any more time dealing with this stuff… Well, none of this happens at the Hertz counter at the Airport in Huatulco. We were greeted by a very pleasant and professional woman named Dulce, who honored our reservation and didn’t push us into buying anything that we didn’t need. She was extremely polite and efficient and we got the keys to our car in less than 15 minutes- do you really want to spend more time at the car rental counter when the Sun, the palm trees, and the Pacific Ocean are waiting for you? Next time when we visit Huatulco- Hertz it is!
