Hilton Garden Inn Merida - 97130 Mérida

Zero issues for our weekend stay. Parking - Free. Because of COVID once you parking in the garage it’s one way in and you have to exit from the other way. It can add to walking but count it as adding necessary steps for your health ??‍♀️ Check In - Easy. Friendly staff We didn’t get an upgrade day 1 but we were able to get an upgrade on day 2. We used points so I don’t think we accrued any bill for this stay. Hotel/Rooms - Its not big. Rooms were clean. Beds comfy. Showers were nice. They provided extra towels when asked. Hotel is connected to a shopping plaza with Starbucks, Fridays and Walmart. We met some other couples at the Walmart. One suggested Madre Mia for dinner and it was such a wonderful suggestion. Breakfast - Because of COVID you have to reserve your time to eat. The food wasn’t amazing for a Hilton Garden Inn but we all found something to hold us over. Pool - You must book. The water is freezing cold. Go when the sun is out to help warm you. Friday’s - we ate at the Fridays one evening. Simple. Easy. Better than some of the other food we’ve had in Merida. Try Madre Mia. It’s about a 10 minute drive away. So delish! ???‍♀️ If I’m the area I would stay here again. However I don’t think I’d ever go out of my way to visit Merida again. Just nothing really here and due to COVID, a lot of the sights were closed to visitors. This isn’t close to the downtown area. It’s about 15-20 minutes. I hope you find this review helpful. After a not so good stay at a different hotel, we came to the Hilton Garden Inn Merida and were very pleased. Rooms and bathroom/shower area are spacious, beds are extremely comfortable. Also having a shopping center of Walmart, vips, Santa Clara Ice Cream and Starbucks right under is super convenient. It’s also a decent taxi/Uber ride to downtown. I’d stay here again happily.

The room entertainment was only in Spanish other than 3 channels. News being 2, of which no one enjoys constant bad news. Having digital channels would allow for the ability to change to English. Room comfort was excellent and it was nice and quiet.

August 7 to 11of 2021, our room smelled moldy, no hot water, extremely low water pressure, smoke detector kept chirping, comforter and pillow cases smelled like mildew. We had electrial problems with the lights. You opened the drawers and it smelled moldy.

I am sad to say. Our room smelled like mildew, no hot water, the water pressure was extremely low, there were bed bugs. We got excuses and were told that they couldn't put us in another room. I had to complain 3 times to my timeshare before any resolution was reached. The good part is the rooms are spacious. The Hilton Garden Inn is located in Uptown Merida.

If your disabled and contact someone in the lobby they will not send someone to pick you up. They have no professional working here after 9 pm only paycheck to paycheck employees.

Nice hotel with great view from North merida. Rooms very big and clean. The personal is very friendly and give always a good solution for each problem we faced. The breakfast ist unfortunately not good but acceptable. Its great that restaurant cafe and walmart are in the near.( 2 minutes walking!)

I love this hotel. its a lot like the Hyatt but its in a much better location for dental or medical Vacations close to the hospital Star Medica. theres a gelato shop and three restaurants inside. close to a walmart and many taco shops. Great view from windows. birds land in your window and are very cute! roof pool by lobby. morning buffet is 200 pesos. even the security Guards are friendly. i always tip the maids who bring clean towels every day. great place to stay
