 I expected that 1-day tourism would be more on the water, but access to the waterfront is almost entirely taken up by hotels

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The description says Marina, but we actually did not see a Marina there.. The boats do anchor at the water along the beach in this area and the beach is very nice. You can walk in the shallow along the shore. Nearby, as seen in the photo, the shallow water (which at low tide is a sandbar) to a bird sanctuary where see the flamingos in the background.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We took the kayak tour through the mangroves with Alberto and it was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and very chill, it was relaxed and not fast-paced. We felt safe and had a great time and Alberto led us to three crocodiles! He knew exactly where to look. His knowledge of birds was astounding. We saw many varieties and overall just had a great day kayaking with him.
