Holiday Inn Huatulco, an IHG Hotel - Blvd. Benito Juárez 604-Sector "A

We just had a fantastic time staying at this wonderful hotel. The staff are really nice, helpful and friendly. The food and restaurant staff are just amazing in the hotel! We ate at other places nearby but the hotel food was our favourite! The hotel was so clean and child friendly and the pool was lovely. We are a family from the UK and we definitely want to go back again!

Extremely clean and well kept hotel, rooms have air conditioning, a safe, and free wifi. Restaurant is serviceable with some local cuisine as well as North American influenced cuisine. Only negative would be some of the experiences at the bar in the evening, it felt fairly unwelcoming and inattentive comparatively to the last visit which was quite the opposite. Will be back again, just hoping for a more welcome experience while having a nightcap.

AVOID & BEWARE of Holiday Inn Huatulco! Cleaning staff clearly stole $400CAD from my suitcase while I was out, and all the other staff (including the manager) just tell me tough luck. I wasn't going to mention anything about the terrible food at the Holiday Inn hotel HUX restaurant, but it actually made me sick to my stomach. They wouldn't even file a report or look into anything. Avoid Huatulco Holiday Inn at all costs!!

This hotel is a hidden gem, the location of the hotel is just perfect, it's right next to the beach and the harbor, perfect for lots of swimming and also jumping on a boat to explore all the beautiful, unspoiled beaches nearby. The hotel itself is very clean, I saw staff every day cleaning the hotel and keeping the place hygienic, which was very reassuring. The room we stayed in, had a beautiful view of the harbor and we loved to sit in the evenings and watch the sun go down and all the boats bobbing on the water. Our room was cleaned thoroughly every day, the beds were so comfortable and there were always fresh towels, plump pillows, water bottles, everything we needed and a reliable safe to keep our valuables in. The restaurant was awesome, the food there absolutely delicious and the restaurant staff themselves were very helpful and kind, nothing was too much trouble for them to help you. We tried other places outside of the hotel but we actually ate in the hotel restaurant the most because it was so reasonable and the staff very friendly and the food came out tasty and delicious every time. We enjoyed using the pool, which was also kept very clean and tidy and felt very relaxed after our stay in this lovely hotel. The Manager and all the staff at this hotel work so hard to make their guests feel right at home, thank you from my family to all of them.

Great services and super clean hotel. Sure , pool is small. But yummy , hot breakfast is included. I just don't understand some people complaining about this hotel on reviews.... I guess there will be always one or 2 unhappy one

This was our first time traveling to Huatulco. I have had negative experiences in the past lodging at hotels that are not a huge chain and I thought I'd opt for a well known international hotel this time to be on the safe side. We booked the hotel for 5 nights. As I reflect on my stay I realize the location of the hotel is great, it is a 5min walk to a beach (there are many, but Santa Cruz beach is walking distance, the other are about a 7 min taxi ride and are great!) 3 minute walk to a plaza/park, and a small pharmacy and mercado are next door. The rooms are large, well maintained and air conditioned, which is amazing!!! However, I was extremely disappointed with their service. Upon arrival you are given a survey as far as how often you'd like the room serviced. The options I think were 1."Not at all during your stay" 2. "Change of towels everyday" or 3. "Full service everyday". I believe these are covid regulations and may change. We opted for the 3rd option since we had plans to visit the beach and bring sand in every day. After we were given keys to the room we unloaded our luggage. We emptied out our luggage to organize our belongings. We must of had a pen without a cap somewhere. Although, we never found the pen or had any of our items with ink released on them we noticed the fitted sheet on the bed had ink. We didn't think much of it at the time. Long story short on day 4 we came back from the waterfalls tour (which is wonderful by the way) at 8pm tired and ready for a shower and rest. Our keys were not functioning, my husband went downstairs to ask for help and he was told our keys were on hold and we had to pay $55 USD because a sheet had ink on it. They released the hold and we did not discuss the sheet situation further. Since then, staff treatment towards us was different and almost rude. It definitely made us uncomfortable. The hotel team was not overly friendly to begin with, but this made it worse. 2 days later at checkout they made us wait 45 minutes. We had a taxi waiting for us to drive us to the airport for our return flight. After the first 20 minutes I inquired about the checkout process and the gentleman would only say "just a few more minutes". We knew it was because of the sheet however, no one would tell us anything. I probably inquired 3 times because I was afraid we'd miss our flight. Finally a lady by the name of Cecilia or Ana Cecilia came out of the back room? and said you need to pay $55 USD or $960 pesos because a sheet had ink on it. The cost did not seem reasonable, the sheet was not new, however I understood we were liable. I let her know I was surprised and disappointed since I am an elite member of IHG Hotels, I have children who in the past have accidentally spilled juice or soft drink and I haven't been charged before. She then rudely told me "Well at this hotel we do charge", and she proceeded to offer we take the sheet with us. She had a smirk on her face and I felt very offended. It was almost as if she was happy to take our money and I felt mocked. I have never experienced this kind of treatment and I will not be returning in the future. We found Huatulco to be the safest city we've traveled to thus far and will be staying across the way at a later date. Moral of the story, count your towels and thoroughly check your room upon arrival and do not expect friendly staff.

I stayed at the Holiday in for a week in April. The hotel is quaint, well located, clean and the staff are all super accommodating and helpful. It felt like a home away from home. Would definitely recommend for a short stay.

Very nice pool area with seating to relax within the pool itself. Very close to the beach. Property is well maintained. Air conditioning in the room worked well and the room was clean. If you do not speak Spanish well be careful when ordering certain things from the menu as they will upsell you without realizing what you ordered. We ordered a large fresh juice to end up with a huge beer pitcher lol. Definitely too much for the two of us and quite pricey. Staff are helpful when checking in but possibly a little overzealous as we felt bombarded with security looking personnel trying to assist with our bags the moment we stepped on the property. Also booked a King bed with marina view but they did not have it available when we checked in for our one night stay. They could only offer us a King room without a view (which we paid for) or 2 Queens with the view so we took the later.
