Holiday Inn & Suites Puerto Vallarta Marina & Golf, an IHG Hotel - 48335 Puerto Vallarta

Overall the location is great if you are wanting to stay close to the airport. We arrived early and knew we would have to wait to check in which was fine. We gave our bags to the front desk and went out to the marina to explore. But when we came back we watched the front desk staff pick and choose if they would check in and give keys to a room or make you wait until 3pm. As a Spire Elite we travel a lot and always get acknowledged and treated as an elite. I used points for this stay but that normally doesn’t matter if you pay full price or use points. I’m disappointed in this property. I read quite a few reviews and it seems they treat the elites horribly. The front desk staff was inept in checking people in and took for ever to check in someone. Once 3pm came around it took 20 minutes to get checked in. Another issue I had was I called the hotel to see if they had a shuttle and they said no. But on the website it said they did and we saw it multiple times dropping people off that is very bad customer service to lie about not having one. If I had called the wrong number they could have said something. I do not recommend this property at all stay somewhere else.

We stayed at this facility for ten days and were thoroughly pleased with our stay. It is the nicest Holiday Inn that I have ever seen, the food was very good and the staff does their best to make you comfortable and welcome.

This is probably the worst IHG hotel I've stayed based on customer service. The hotel is nice/updated and the pool are has a great view, but the service is poor. I had 2 reservations (#1 from day 1 to day 4, #2 from day 4 to day 5). Upon check-in I made the front desk aware of both reservations. It took 5 different people at different dates/times to ensure this was taken care of. I appreciate the heads up given by the housekeeping lady on day 4, otherwise I my last night would have been marked as a no show. The shuttle was also, per the general manager's response, not available due to covid-19/government restrictions, after the front desk had told me it wasn't available due to mechanical issues. When I inquired about it the general manager told me that this was a free service it was not their obligation to provide it. To my surprise, as I was checking out, the shuttle driver was taking a guest to the airport and told me it was working. Also, the A/C was leaking in the room right after I checked in - it was fixed promptly after a couple of calls. Then took another couple of calls to get someone to mop the floor as there was a lot of water in the room. The cleaning crew was great.

Really great hotel. Food and beverage options are nice. Pool and spa areas are great. Room was clean and spacious. I would definitely stay here again.

Since the pandemic, I have only stayed at Holiday Inn when traveling for business in the United States. Each and every time, the staff has been amazing and took extra care to welcome my business. This time I was on vacation ending it at your hotel. We chose the location due to a number of factors, one being close to the airport and an airport shuttle. Checkin was a bit challenging waiting for one of the two staff members to get off the phone. They never once said that they apologize for the wait. They did not thank me for my business. The room that was chosen had a view of a building that had started to be dismantled and then was just left with piles of garbage. The airport shuttle was not operating with no clear reason. We had a broken safe in the room that maintenance came to fix but left it still broken and never came back despite repeated calls to the front desk. I hope you can improve your service with this review. BTW, the maid service was wonderful and very attentive.

I love the place, stayed three times, but there are 2 big problems: 1: the wifi kicks you off every 30 minutes or so, you have to sign back in every time. Terrible when you’re trying to work, conference call, or stream videos. 2: the air conditioning in the rooms never shuts off, and is very loud. Very annoying. For this price, it’s not acceptable really. These problems can be fixed. If they are fixed , my rating will improve, because I like everything else, including the breakfast ?

Everything was great about this property! Staff were amazing, very attentive. Restaurant and bar were fabulous They had great safety protocols in place and made sure people were abiding by thtem to ensure all guests felt safe.

Can’t rate this hotel highly enough. Lovely staff. Immaculate. Lovely decor and art work. Rooms are fantastic, super comfy beds, high quality linens and towels. Room service. Lap pool, huge hot tub. Excellent WiFi. Free. Free late checkout ( I checked out at 2pm). It’s a few minutes walk from the lovely marina, near shops and restaurants. Easy access to Malecón - downtown. 20 min walk so amazing beaches. (1 mile) but it’s through marina so a lovely walk. Only thing to say it’s primarily focused as a business hotel so it’s super efficient and clean. It’s lovely as no waiters hanging over you or such like. Check out my photos. Only caveat is it’s next to a busy road so near pool there is road noise but not in rooms. Although it’s also super close to airport it has zero view or noise of planes as they all land/take off different direction . I’ll be back ! Get the Suites 800 sq ft , you’ll be glad you did !
