The San Lázaro Station was in this quadrant: San Ciprián street to the west, the main entrance to the station; to the south with Quadrante de la Soledad (today Plaza San Lázaro); to the north with Emiliano Zapata and to the east with Francisco Morazán (today the Congress of the Union). The current Emiliano Zapata Housing Unit was built on the land occupied by the Clemente Jacques cannery and the La Azteca chocolate factory, bordering Emiliano Zapata to the south and the Cintura Railway to the west. These data were provided to me in 2003 by Captain Angel Zamarripa of the Entusiastas del Ferrocarril group. The land occupied by the San Lázaro station does not form part of the space occupied by the Legislative Palace and yet it was demolished, thus losing a symbolic and beautiful building that was planned to be used as a railway museum. The only thing that currently survives are some arches of what was the platform (in front of the Legislative Palace), it is worth mentioning that here merchandise entered by water, later by train. In this area Cortes ordered the construction of a port (las atarazanas, 1522) to mooring the boats with which he besieged the Mexico-Tenochtitlan in 1521.
