★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a brilliant day of riding and highly recommend Mary Jane and her team. As an experienced rider it’s easy to be wary of the kind of riding you might get and especially the kind of horse you might get to ride but I needn’t have worried. Mary Jane took time to find out all about my riding history and pair me with an appropriate horse who was wonderfully responsive, well cared for and much loved. The ride was appropriately challenging and highly enjoyable and Mary Jane and Iris were both great guides and good company - able to offer a wealth of insight into the landscape, flora, fauna and history of the area. All followed up with a delicious meal back at the ranch. Only sad that I don’t have time to do one of the week long rides they offer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I enjoyed a two day, one night stay with Horseback Mexico and the trip was absolutely fantastic! One of our biggest highlights of Mexico! Mary Jane is a lovely host and so knowledgeable about Oaxaca and the valley. The horses were beautiful and so well cared for. And the ranch was perfect with very comfortable rooms and delicious food. If we could give 6 stars we would!

The horses were perfectly trained--the best we've ever ridden, the scenery was spectacular, and Iris was a highly knowledgeable guide. In addition to informing us about local flora and fauna, we learned more about horses, training and riding than we'd ever known before. We highly recommend this experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I highly recommend Horseback Mexico for equestrian adventures in exciting and varied terrain, particularly for experienced riders and those interested in honing their skills on-trail. Mary Jane and team take the utmost care to ensure that horses are fit, happy and comfortable, and that riders have the opportunity to see new landscapes, use and improve their skills. My best friend and I, who have both ridden for several decades, were shopping for an 'equestrian vacation' and ended up choosing Horseback Mexico to do a 7-day progressive ride. We were very happy with the experience start-to-finish, and are itching to do our next one! Hopefully soon :) Gracias!
