Hostal Casa del Angel - 70947 Mazunte

A really nice place with a good vibe, but... 3 levels bunk beds, really?

Most comfortable bed I had in months! The owner was very helpful and spoke very good english. The room was nice and clean, the kitchen had everything I needed to cook, the little pool was perfect on a hot day to take a dip, the wifi was quite decent, much better than the last couple places I have been at, and for the price, it was totally worth it. Mazunte has a lot to offer so I ended up extending my stay.

Staffs kind But the owner was very rude In mazunte there was not plenty space to stay so it is not a bad option for low price but anyway the owner should have more service mind

Great stay! Gustavo was very friendly and answered any questions that I had. The location is just up the hill from downtown Mazunte. The kitchen is well stocked with anything one might need to cook. The dorm I stayed in had a comfortable bed, and it was covered with a mosquito netting to keep out bugs. The WiFi works well, and I liked the coffee shop that was located next door. If you are looking for a simple place to unwind and relax, I would highly recommend this hostel!

This is one of the best hostels that I’ve ever stayed. The place is so chill & perfect to relax. It’s clean, the owner & the employees are really kind, friendly & helpful. The location is really good as well. I truly enjoyed my stay there.

Really nice hostel, really nice staff. Super close to the centre, but also close to the road so some rooms can be quite loud. Lovely kitchen and communal space

I stayed here for only night because of a terrible experience with the owner (Gustavo). I booked a room for two nights and was planning on extending another 3. The first night I was there I went out and came back quite late (around 4:30). I was woken up at 7:30 by the sound of very loud construction directly outside my room. They had put me in a room directly beside the site where they were building an extension to the hostal and had not told me to expect noise in the morning. When I complained to the owner he told me there was nothing to do, and instead of trying to find me a different room, or acknowledging that maybe it’s important to let guests know that there will be loud noises early in the morning, he got at mad at me for complaining, told me he didn’t expect it to be an issue, and that I could check out that day. I would have been happy moving to another room, but he essentially decided for me that I should leave, so effectively I was kicked out for complaining about the noise. I tried to raise these issues with him, but was ignored. To his credit he did refund most of my stay, but if you’re going to construction early beside a room, at least offer a discount on those rooms.

For the area the hostel is a very reasonable price with a nice kitchen, swimming pool and beautiful back area and great vibe. The room itself I feel it’s a bit of a cram with the room having 3 level bunk beds plus a bit stingy with the water giving limited access let’s keep plastic waste down!
