★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This hostel is great! I arrived in oaxaca only to stay 3 night and I ended up staying 6 night and I didn't even felt it.
The staff is really helpful and the place is really clean.
The best thing is the roof a large terrace where u can see a big part of the city, sunset and sunrise.
The breakfast is available if u pay a bit more, they cook it for u as u sit in the dining table.
Is 10/15 minutes walking form the cathedral but is worth it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really wanted to love this place. The atmosphere is great, people are great, it’s super pretty... I read a review that back in April&Feb they had a bedbug infestation but wanted to take the chance... and I got mauled by bed bugs. I know at least three people whp got bitten. I had to switch beds three times and finally called it quits when I actually saw one in the corner of the bed with my own eyes. This is a hostel with a lot of potential... I just wish they would get rid of the bugs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly staff. The hostal itself is very clean and well managed. The breakfast is decent (fruits, toast, a small omelet and a coffee or tea). Great atmosphere in the place. Also nice to have a big roof terrace to hang out on.
Also they have very kind, friendly and cute little dog that lights up the room when he enters it :).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm so happy I found this place! It's super clean with comfy beds, hot water in big showers, a beautiful garden, wifi, a few tables if you're here for work and a rooftop with a great view! The shared kitchen is spacious and the hostel is only a short walk to the center and right across the street is a market with tons of fruits and veggies. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I feel very welcome and safe here and they are following Covid-19 cleaning/safety guidlines! I keep extending my stay because I don't want to leave haha! Super recomendable!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have seen many hostel, hotel and hostals in my life. But never one as dirty as this one. Just absolutely disgusting. Hostal Chocolate changed its location. It must be since then that the place falls apart. The bathroom was not cleaned during our whole stay of 3 days..!! And it was full house. And it already seemed to not be cleaned since many days before. Blocked toilets, hair, toothpaste, dirt, pee and much more everywhere.
Just avoid this place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The family that run this hostel are lovely, Ivette was very kind and helpful to me when I got sick during my stay and they all made me feel comfortable, the group of volunteers are very friendly too. The hostel has everything you need and is in a good location, I came back about 3 times within the last couple months so would recommend! Thanks guys :)
