We had bed bugs in our bed. We wanted to tell that the boss to save the next guests, but he just yelled at us and flipped the situation that we were to blame. It was an unfair behaviour from him, he didn't even offer us solutions to help us.

DO NOT GO THERE ! BED BUGS!!! the worst hostel i have ever been in my life. We had after one night our whole body full of bed bugs bites. we wanted some help from the owner with the laundry. but he got completely aggressive, he was screaming to us. he didnt help us. in the end we had no refund on the night we stayed, the body full of bed bugs bites and no laundry assistant. worst experience. DO NOT GO THERE!!! BED BUGS!!!

!!!DANGER!!! Read the other 1 star negative reviews before you consider checking in!!! Some creepy stories here include disgusting behavior by the owner. My partner and I walked in to check for a monthly stay. After seeing an option which seemed good we asked the receptionist if we can leave our bags (2 small backpack and a guitar) somewhere while we check other options for a few hours. She said yes and pointed to where we can leave our stuff. We wanted to stay there before reading the other reviews here about the owner's behavior which scared us. When we got back, our bags weren't where we left them. The same receptionist said the owner got back and told her to move them away and charge us for storage. Our bags were kept hostage to force us pay the arbitrary amount he decided on! This has NEVER happened to me anywhere in many years of travels! We still considered to stay but wanted to talk directly to the owner for a couple of minutes to feel the vibe as we did plan a monthly stay. He refused to talk to us, not even coming to say hello. We decided we won't stay there and paid the extortion fee as we preferred not to start a fight when our bags were held hostage out of sight. While the place may seem fine, we won't recommend anyone to stay there as it seems the owner's way of treating people is scary and dangerous. Please read other reviews here. There is a big number of 1 star reviews which made us feel unsafe staying there and the behavior towards us has confirmed their validity for us.

Great hostel, the staff are brilliant - don’t believe the bad reviews. I think as long as you’re respectful to them they treat you extremely well and have loads of information about activities in and around San Cristobal.

Woow I never stayed in a hostel like this one... The owner has so much bad vibes, always behind you and so unfriendly. They make you pay for the storage, even for few hours.... I could not use my laptop in my room, he was knocking and pretended it was loud... After two nights I could not support to stay longer.

The restaurant that has nothing to do with the hostel is amazing!! Seriously the best for I've eaten in Mexico. As for the hostel, Beds are pretty lumpy and uncomfortable. Hot water is great when it's on. The vibe of the people running the place is definitely strange. I thought it was just me but after reading the reviews here I know I'm not the only one. There's creey and misogynistic energy. On the last day they were taking forever to give us our deposit back and our bus was leaving so we got tired of it and just left, as we were leaving my friend said out loud "worst hostel ever" to which one of the guys working there cussed at us. You're not allowed to be outside your room past a certain time, even if you're sitting quietly. There was also a mysoginistic event where when I confronted the guy there was no accountability or apology, you can see the same lack of accountability from their responses to negative reviews here too. There are sooooooo many better places to stay.

Good value before the price and location. Can be a bit noisy as the dorm rooms especially one of them is next to reception also illuminated at night and early morning from this. If you want to leave your things in storage the charge you if you don't take your things by 3'Oclock. So not the best hostal but a good value for the price and right next to Guadalupe.
