Hostel 3B - 77710 Playa del Carmen

Not a good place to rest. Management has no respect for people who wants to sleep. They should have at least have a schedule for the music to stop or less bass. It’s like earthquake the whole night until 5am 24/7 in the room even with the windows and door closed. The walls might be thin.

The lady at the front desk was very offputting to my presence, I was very polite and very friendly but she immediately quoted one price and tried raising the price for no reason infront of me until her companion told her to charge me the going rate. I opted for a private room and it was not what I expected and definitely not worth the price of $800 pesos. The air conditioning was not working properly, the remote was extremely old and didn't even work well to adjust it to the temperature that I wanted to. The shower was just nonstop leaking and the toilet had no seat cover, which for $800 pesos was a disappointment ontop of a disappointment. The balcony was cool but then again, not much of a view. There's a rooftop party that's pretty cool but it's a shame no maintenance is given DURING the party like eveywhere else, hence, if people are dropping beer all over the floor, it doesn't get cleaned up. Halfway through the party it was just impossible to dance and not trip, it was like partying on a glue covered floor. Waiters were nice, and DJ's were nice too but staff was just very offputting, I wouldn't say Staff was friendly. Security is definitely flawed since I saw someone get threatened by someone with a gun, I'm not ignorant and I know Playa Del Carmen is crime ridden on a low key level, but it's still uncomfortable seeing this happen at a place where people come to sleep and have a good time. Definitely not going back. Once the party was over, staff was just barking orders for people to go back to their rooms, no politeness, no courtesy, if you don't remind or ask anyone for anything then you might not get it, they'll forget about it. Only one of the front desk guys was kind of laid back, everyone else just seems to not care and not have a sense of hospitality, which is a definite plus at a hostel, you go there to rest and have a nice time, not have awkward treatment.

I cannot recommend this hostel for it's price, even if you are the type of person that wants to party everyday. It's a good place to go party and that's it. Monday is the only day without party. The room is very warm, and the fans were on all night long, doing a loud noise. The bed did not have the bed sheets on. Toilet is in a bad condition so is the shared kitchen. They have a rooftop bar which you get free entrance with the hostel bracelet. Loud music till 4AM on a Sunday, which you can hear from your room, especially the bass. Location is great and staff was friendly and helpful.

Huge scam at the roof top bar!!!!!! We went yesterday night and they charged us 300 pesos for a shot of tequila!!!! They came up it was Don Julio 70 which I NEVER ASK FOR!, They just don't care about people, it is just about money and the service with the manager on the rt is just sooooooooo bad. Just don't go their if you don't want to get ripped off!

The bar Hotel 3B is a scam to avoid! It is the worst bar of playa the service is very slow and has no scruples for the foreigners. It does not hesitate to increase the prices and proposes us false offers on the beach. 750 pesos for the 3 worst mojitos that I never saw! The dj is of very bad quality, the sound is too strong and saturated, the swimming pool is very dirty and moreover a lot of people take drugs. One person went into a coma and nobody came to help him!

Amazing environment, very comfortable and the staff is particularly welcoming and nice. When I went to the terrace they had a reunion and they invited me beers and vegan burgers! ♡ I would totally recommend staying here, the hostel is located 2 blocks from the ferry and the beach, also near lots of public services, restaurants and in front of a mall. They have hot water for those cold nights :)

Lots of potential.. The house music that was played by the DJ was great... There was a giant Transformer dancing to the house music. Recommend the burger they grill right there on the rooftop... Place stays open all night (big plus) be careful they draw in the ladies and say it's free to get in, but when upstairs you're actually charged

I felt very comfortable. The hostel was not too crowded so you could always have some space and time for yourself and the staff was always happy to chat, give recommendations, help etc. The dorms, bathrooms, kitchen and common areas were all clean and in a good condition! AC in the room with comfortable mattresses and pillows. I was super happy to be welcomed in the volunteer group as they took me partying or showed interest in me!
