They have a beautiful garden to relax or to do barbeque. Toilet were clean and the shower is hot! Kitchen is also very clean! And the view from the rooftop or the nearby church is just awesome :). Not a party hostel, no noises people, a lovely place to stay in San Cris!

The location is great you are at the top of the hill right near the church and have a great view of the town. The walk to town is straight down and the walk up really isn't bad. The price is great and the rooms are large and comfy. The bed and sheets are very soft. There is lots of common space and friendly staff. The only thing is it can get cold at night but that's just the location, the blankets kept me nice and warm.

Chill hostel next to Virgen de Guadalupe church at the top of a hill. Roof terrace overlooks the city. Clean, comfortable and well-managed. Warm beds (important). Mileage will vary with fellow guests, of course. Breakfasts vary with volunteers cooking them. Valentina(?) from Chile rocked the kitchen during my stay with simple, clean and tasteful breakfasts for vegetarians and omnivores alike. Muchas gracias!

I haven’t stayed at a hostel in ages - afraid of being forced to co-mingle with 20 year olds who are still learning their mezcal (or pox) limits. However at Hostel Mirador, I felt so comfortable - there was a homey, but thoughtfully-curated atmosphere. Luis (the owner/operator) was very welcoming and understanding when we showed up hours late after taking an impromptu trip to see Velo de Novia. The volunteers were kind. The guests were friendly and there was a feeling of mutual respect amongst everyone. Breakfast was tasty. Beautiful view of the valley from the rooftop and there are some lovely places to hang out around the hostel gardens too. Most importantly, the rooms & beds were very clean & comfortable. I’ll be skipping Air BnB next time I head to San Cristobal de L.C. and heading straight to Hostel Mirador!

The manager selt me a place for my hammok for 75 Pesos. This place was between two pillers wich crushed, when i set into my hammok. This person, the manager, selt me a dangerous place. But not only once. The next day he showed me an other spot under a construction, wich of course, also crashed. Lucky me, i did not got hurt by the wrong advice of the manager. Afther that, I thought there should be a kind of outbalancing. So I asked for a free night in exchange for my trubles. Obviously he couldn't handle the thought of having made a mistake. He kicked me out at the same day without returning me the money for the two nights I had to sleep on the floor.

I made a booking a week in advance, dropped my bag off in the morning of the booking and stood outside for ten minutes ringing the doorbell because no one was at reception. A guest let me in and since I had a tour in fifteen minutes left my bag and a note explaining the situation and kindly asking someone to put my bag into storage. When I arrived at the hostel 8 hours later to check in my bag was exactly where I left it and I was told the hostel had overbooked but they had a tent available in the back. It was placed on a broken concrete slab that divided the middle of the thin mattress and told "It is what it is. At least it's 30 pesos cheaper". I told the volunteer I would think about it and in the meantime a nice guest made conversation and I asked how he liked the hostel. He said it was great and he had just today extended his stay in the dorm! Now I can't be sure but sounds a whole lot like the bed I had booked and been shafted out of. I left and told the volunteer (who to be fair was a very nice guy) that I would be back tomorrow for my reservation in the dorm. I found somewhere else for the night and thankfully had the sense to call and confirm before trekking back over there to confirm my reservation. The guy on the phone said he "had an impression" that I wouldn't be back and cancelled the rest of my stay. No offer to refund my deposit, no sorry. Absolutely awful service and the worst hostel experience on this trip.
