Horrible hospitality. The owner is arrogant and arkward. There is only 2 bathrooms in the whole hostel. If you want good vibes, do not go there.

I really liked Qhia Hostel. It has different terraces, it’s calm and with a lot of nice green. It’s also central and you are super near to the big market. Was totally what I needed for my stay in San Cris :)

I dont usually 'write' reviews for places, but felt compelled to on this occasion. Firstly, be careful about what time you want to arrive as there is a ONE hour check in window between 1100 & 1200, and if you are after this, you get the third degree/get your booking cancelled. Its a friends hostel, with long term people and those that know the hostel manager, sleeping on beds in the common area. Its a vegetarian only kitchen space, but you do not get told that. Also the WIFI is poor so don't expect to be able to work whilst here. Facilities are average for the price, which is fine. The MAIN BIT - I had money stolen from my locker whilst at this hostel. The manager was empathetic but didn't bother doing much to aid the situation. I was just told I should lock it at all times, but everyone who is in the hostel has their locker open, what sort of culture does that suggest goes on? I left here early and had to fight for a refund, then told after that theft is common in the hostel. Be aware.

One of the loveliest hostels I've never stayed at! The private room I had was very simple but nice and comfortable. The only thing is that there was no internet connection in my room. The hostel has a beautiful garden, a well equiped kitchen, great common areas with a fireplace! Oh and Rez, the manager is such a wonderful soul, spreading so much light.

The hostel is located perfectly. The atmosphere is nice and the common room upstairs is cosy and has a nice fireplace. It is a very colourful hostel and it has beautiful wall art. The owner is a bit slow but very friendly. We booked a dorm as a couple, but sadly there was no space for us in the same dorm. In the mornings there is usually a toilet paper shortage, so make sure you bring some of your own. The toilets could have been cleaned more often, since a lot of people get food poisoning in San Cris.

Beautiful experience! It surprised us. Such a nice and good people. The customer service was warm and great. It felt like family. Loved the place, the art in it. The accommodations were what it had to be. The caring and advices to know the town where so assertive and fun. Let's hope it stays so cozy and familiar as we experienced it.

Pros: I was able to get an extra blanket. Everything was clean. The garden has hummingbirds. The host was kind and tried to keep up with the bathrooms. He also helped me and other travelers get a good price on the rooms. The common areas were sublime. There were bedside outlets. It was pretty quiet. Cons: At the crux of my issues of the hostel was sleeping. On my top bunk bed, I could feel the wood planks supporting my bed. The woman sleeping under me was a bit nervous about the bend to the bed. Let me be clear that this is not a “Princess and the Pea” issue — I used to prefer sleeping on floors with only a comforter under me. If I had more blankets, I’d have done so. The pillow was a joke. The sleep I got at this hostel was so bad, it made it very challenging to travel at all during the day. Communication wasn’t great. I had a hard time getting a response when I emailed the host. I ran into a couple who reserved a room a couple days prior and were unable to get a response. The wifi was not good. I ran into other travelers who were equally unhappy with this hostel, or more so. One stayed in a room where people in attached private room had to walk through the dorm room to get enter and leave their room.
