Hotel Arenas - 77976 Mahahual

Great location. Terrible staff... They could not be bothered to lift a finger for you. And they use all the WiFi bandwidth.

I loved the hotel ubication, but they have to give maintenance to the rooms.

Spent a week here with a group of 14 and had a wonderful time. Staff were super friendly and helpful - treated us like family.

Nice location away of the new trendy and noisy area of Mahahual. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Free and safe parking. Just missing food options in the bar.

Very nice and quite hotel. Very professional staff. Extremely clean and well kept. One of the better hotels in Mahahual for sure. Tip: next door is a restaurant called Casa de la langosta. Mike "owner", makes the best lobster in Quintana Roo. Tell him the viking sent you and you want the secret beach table experiance. He will set you up a table on the private beach and you will enjoy a night of food paradise!

This was my first time staying in Mahahual. I loved the location because it's very close to the town but not in a loud area and the hotel has all you need for a nice stay but there were 2 things I loved the most: super friendly staff and the food was delicious. ? highly recommended

I stayed in room 10 and the room and it definitely had bed bugs. I tried talking to two folks at the hotel about this and emailing management about how serious this is and their response was just to tell me that the hotel is close to the jungle and therefore there are bugs and they will disinfect the room.  I don't think they actually understand what bed bugs are and how serious this is.  I had bed bugs at my house in DC two years ago, it costs me almost $3K to get rid of (it's a really specific treatment plan to get rid of them, including mattress covers, chemicals, heat, etc.).  If other travelers stay here, they may end up taking bed bugs home to own houses, so this is pretty serious.  I would not recommend staying here until the bed bug situation is resolved.

Awful service!! Rooms were dirty and had a humidity smell due to the poor maintenance on their a/c. During rains water would you come into the room through the air conditioner due to poor gasket caulking. Towels were not washed, instead they were just put in the dryer. I WOULD NOT, BY ANY MEANS advise future travelers to stay at this place. I asked for a one night refund due to those reasons and the suppose owner, who was in Chetumal responded that she would not give any refund, either partially or totally. When you pay for a service, you deserve a at least a modest service. Please avoid making reservations at this place.
