Hotel Barrancas del Cobre - 81200 Areponapuchic

Buena elección, cómodo, tranquilo y con acceso a vistas de las Barrancas. El hotel es pequeño, la habitación que nos tocó estaba en la parte baja, no tenía una gran vista, pero era bastante agradable. Sus jardines le dan un ambiente agradable. No tienen servicio de comedor, pero te llevan al Hotel Mirador, desde el cual puedes disfrutar la vista a las Barrancas. El personal es muy atento y te reciben en la estación del tren. Ofrece tours y actividades interesantes.

Very nice hotel near the station Posada Barrancas and a real quiet place

The hotel was very clean, pretty, warm, and the staff is very accommodating too! Not to mention that breakfast at the view hotel is a great bonus for a small price ☺

You can only eat dinner at the neighbouring hotel, a short walk away which is part of the Balderrama group and is called Hotel Mirador. The staff there prioritise the large tour groups for dinner and asked us to wait until 8pm to be served dinner, despire there being smaller tables availabls close to the bar area. When we were served dinner, it was rushed, with each course arriving in quick succession, with the waiting staff keen to pack up once the big tour groups had left. When we asked for the bill to sign so that it could be signed against our room tab at the Barrancas Del Cobre hotel, we were told we'd get it the next day. We complained about this and the staff insisted we'd get it tomorrow, which was quite absurd. Turns out they were charging 800 peso for the meal, which they had failed to tell us beforehand and the food was frankly below par and overpriced compared with what we ate and paid for in Chihuahua city. They clearly believe that with a captive audience and limited other options of places to eat, that they can do this. We won't be going back.

Expensive but somewhat cheap, justified by location. Helpful staff. Good, reasonably priced food at Mirador, with great views. Don't forget warm clothes! Also Chepe tourista requires reservations ;)

Nice place, great customer service, if you don't mind to move daily to a close hotel for food, this is a great hotel to stay.

Nowhere to eat, the closest place is a neighboring hotel and you can only eat at certain times, not to mention the food is super expensive. They prioritize larger tourist groups. Heater was broken and the maintenance man had "inspected" before checking in and said everything was okay. Receptionist was nice though and they brought an electric space heater to my room. Basic room for 2x the price.
