★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My friend and I stayed at this beautiful Hotel and had a wonderful time exploring Tonalá and the surrounding areas. The location was great, very comfortable and clean, the service was awesome…and very affordable prices! If we ever come back, we are definitely staying here again. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I will rewrite as I get home. This started as an afternoon in Tonala before heading towards Mexico City, Kate had wanted to look for some glass items. We arrived just after noon, people are busy. From the outside it looks very small. They have a small restaurant and bar. What sets it a bit apart is with small amount of Spanish many things can happen. The Courtyard is hidden it is mostly shaded but very much alive. There is so much art it is amazing. There is a small spa onsite, Kate will say more about that portion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow, what an incredible experience. We stayed in Tonola for a couple days at this hotel and the people were amazing, so nice and welcoming. We had great food and service. If you want to get the real feel of Tonola and it's people, then come stay at Hotel Santo Santiago!!

Stay here if you're tired of the typical chain hotels.
Very clean.
It was built recently so everything is new and works.
The area is not the greatest, but as long as you're back to the hotel by dark, you should be alright.
I had an issue with one rude lady that works there. But everyone else was delightful.
I highly recommend it, especially if your traveling alone or as a couple. If you've got kids, not so much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Three stars for the location and the ladies at the front desk. But overall- if you are looking to sleep-in, peace and quiet this is NOT the place! You can hear every conversation in the lobby, every individual going up the stairs, anyone talking or any kind of noise coming from the dining/bar area. Plus next door added to the noise with loud music and some sort of airgun sounding noise. Just be prepared to be fully awake by 7am.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hidden gem. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Inside parking was a huge plus. The atmosphere once inside was calm and relaxing making you forget that you are in a city at all. I will be staying here on my next trip to Guadalajara!
