Amazing Hotel in the blue Laguna. One of the best place I've ever seen. If you go to Mexico, go to visit Laguna Bacalar and stay in this wonderful hotel. It's sooo beautiful, it has a swimming pool like a small cenote, deep and blue. Rooms are immersed in nature, palm trees and silence are all around you. Miguel will welcome you with a big smile and he will treat you as a friend. Super super reccomend it

Found this hotel by randomly clicking on google maps and booking it for the next day back in September. And it just blew our minds ?! The eco hotel is so beautifully build with mostly wood and natural materials. The hosts Miguel and Andrea were super welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed and more. ( e.g. a couple of fisherman came by to sell fresh caught lobster and the staff made us a delicious ceviche for lunch from it.) My favorite spot was the pool, where you can cool off and float under the palm trees. We arrived at night and had some problems finding the hotel in de dark. You go a bit off road so keep that in mind, espesh when it has rained. Recommend just driving there with day light ;). Thanks for everything Miguel & Andrea!

Amazing place to disconnect and enjoy the quiet side of the lagoon. Comfy rooms, pool and their own private beach club. The staff is super welcoming. Don't miss the sunrise paddle tour.

This hotel should be renamed Buena Vista Zika Club. I like rustic hotels and often stay at small properties these days. This was not a good choice. I am not fancy or vindictive. I booked this hotel from the Belize border and arrived 40 minutes later. Despite my dissatisfaction, they would not refund my reservation. I understand that this WAS technically my fault due to booking a non refundable reservation, (40 minutes before) however, policy does not equal fairness or good customer service. Here are the reasons I wished to cancel immediately and then walked away from my money. For the $100 I spent here for nothing but WASTED TIME AND MOSQUITO BITES I feel fine telling you why. Good luck finding this hotel. Most of the streets into the Buena Vista area were blocked from the highway with branches and rocks...not sure if this is covid related but it was strange. The road to get to this hotel is EXTREMELY rough. If you have a sports car, you will destroy it. This place is located in the jungle and I was greeted by hordes of mosquitoes when I exited my vehicle. I was bitten 10-15 times within the 10 minutes I was here. I am from the Ottawa, Canada area originally and am no stranger to mosquitos. They would be intolerable here. You will not want to be outside. They had no food beyond breakfast and the town was very small. I would not feel confident of finding anything to eat as darkness was descending. The staff were nice and polite but the “Marketing Manager” was happy to take my money despite my obvious dissatisfaction. I did not even look at my room. I left and stayed at a mosquito free property in Chetumal. Stay in Bacalar if you come to this area. Stay away from here unless you want a sweet case of Zika in a town with nothing to eat and probable vehicular destruction. To cap things off, they somehow disabled my ability to leave a rating on hotels.com...so they can have it on every other platform. Any hotel that’s afraid of ratings is not worth patronizing. The front desk clerk was sweet and nice. The staff I saw were the same. But the cowardly “Marketing Manager” who made them do her dirty work should be properly trained and this place needs to figure out food for late arrivals and mosquito control. The technology exists...do a google search. If someone shows up and does not want to stay here, give them their money back. If that is the case, you have failed as a resort....and as such, you need to revisit your business plan. In the words of Ricky from Trailer Park Boys: “I’m gonna pay you $100 to f#%k off.”

Great hotel, location is great. I wish it was closer to the lagoon/beach.

Terrible service! Be warned, there is no parking lot. Beach club (supposedly 10mins away by car) is not in function, and they do not say this in advance! The place is at least 30 mins walking from the lagoon. The road to get to the place is dark and in VERY bad conditions. You may need a 4x4 to get there or risk damaging your car. Yoga class will also be cancelled to their whim. "Pool" is a 2x2 fountain and the kitchen is disgustingly dirty. Based on other reviews here it is obvious that they will charge you in advance and wont refund your money even though they clearly do not meet the quality they purportedly sell. It's sold as a 5-star hotel but it's far from that, especially the service, very rude and condescending staff. Do not be deluded by the nice pictures!

We stayed for two nights and it was wonderful. If you chose to stay here, I highly recommend you have a mode of transportation or are 100% okay with chilling in Buenavista and taking private tours. We really enjoyed the morning yoga with Max, it was very rejuvenating. He brought a very friendly vibe to the stay. The local staff was really accommodating. The diner we had was good and the breakfast was enjoyable. I love the two cats running around. They’re absolutely adorable.
