★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hotel, charming and chic, it's clean and the staff are nice and helpful. The food is also tasty and and affordable. The location is great, it's near the historic center just a few blocks away but not too close that the noisy bars and nightlife can become bothersome, at night it's nice and quiet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Boutique hotel, small hotel insures you get the personal attention you desire . Bird themed rooms and breakfast area. Really clean rooms, nice clean restroom . Every room is different is what I was told , named after an exotic bird of somekind . The breakfast was really delicious , I usually dont like chilaquiles , but they were something else here . I recommend the breakfast do not go anywhere else you will not regret it. Good cup of Joe, freshly squeezed orange juice , toast with butter, plate of fruit with nice presentation and your choice of breakfast .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A homey no-frills accommodation - a good size room with a bathroom with hot water. Comfortable large bed. Clean. No windows, only the glass door into the internal patio. WiFi weak in my room. Short walk to the center. Wonderful staff. Good breakfast at a reasonable price. Good for a brief stay while passing through town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We made our reservation for Dia de Muertos 2022 at this hotel via Booking.com over a year in advance based on recommendations from travel sites that rooms sell out that far in advance because of the demand. Our reservation was a "no prepayment needed" and $360 after fees and taxes. Our reservation was in tact for the last two months, but then I received an alert from Booking.com that the card we used was "invalid". I was confused because there is nothing wrong with my card and I had more than enough available credit. When I contacted the hotel, they said that they were just trying to do a "preauthorization check" which is understandable. So I used a second card and received another "invalid" notification. Then a third, only for it to happen again. We called all of the card companies and there is nothing wrong with any of these cards whatsoever and we never received any alerts that the cards had been processed and rejected. I kept in touch with hotel and they claimed to not understand what was happening either.
This morning, I received an alert that our reservation had been cancelled. So I went to check the availability. The room is now listed as $520 before taxes and fees. So we were left scrambling to find something. We just booked a room on Airbnb with the same exact card that we used to originally book this room and there was no problem charging the card whatsoever. I am having a hard time believing that the preauthorization and the cancellation was not intentional given the sudden $200 increase in price for the room. It just feels dishonest and shady.
