Hotel Casa Margot - 77310 Holbox

This hotel offers modern accomodations and friendly staff in a quiet area. It is located about 1 km from the center of town, closer to the bioluminescence.

Location: perfect for those who want to escape the busy downtown. One block from the beach. Breakfast: A la carte with vários options, everything is homemade and very tasty. The staff and cheff are very nice. Room: spacious, clean and well decorated. The reason of rating 3 stars are basically: - the beds are are almost like sleeping on the floor. - privacy, we were lucky to have the room on second floor and corner facing the sunrise. Otherwise will have others looking into your room.

Best hotel since 1 month of travelling! The breakfast was delicious and the rooms are very fancy! The beach is just a 2 Minutes walk away:) we regret that we did not stay longer!

A lot of mixed feelings regarding this place. Yes it's pretty and stylish but no privacy in your room unless you shut the curtains as window and door both face the common area. WiFi is extremely slow or doesn't work at all (we didn't have connection for 2 days). It's too far from the center and you won't find anything nearby (and the nicest beaches are at a long walk distance too). Breakfast is average and don't hesitate to ask for your eggs otherwise they won't be offered. A really good point about this place is the front desk staff. The 2 ladies we met were really adorable, friendly, approachable and the hotel is lucky to have them as part of their team.

Our stay at Hotel Casa Margot was just satisfactory. The hotel itself is aesthetically pleasing. But the hotel does not live up to its potential. We had to have our room changed three times. The first time because our air conditioner leaked water. The second room the air conditioner compressor did not work. The third room, thankfully, had a working air conditioning unit. The hotel advertises that there are in room safes. Our first and second rooms had no safes. Our third room had a safe, but it was "out of service" and unusable. The in room smart TV had virtually nothing worth watching. The channels that could have actually been worth watching were not subscribed to. While we were at the hotel, the wifi internet was working, but had occasional drops in speed. The guy at the front desk at night is very friendly and helpful.The girl that is at the front desk, during the day, was unfriendly and unhelpful. The cleaning service could also do a better job keeping the rooms clean. We had no hand towels. They only provided wash cloths. The hotel is around a 15 minute walk to the centre of Holbox town and a 10 minute walk to the nearest beach. They have onsite bicycle and golf cart rentals. The breakfast offered was satisfactory. I would not stay a second time at Casa Margot, due to its short comings.

Very nice rooms out of touristic area but walkable distance to Playa Coco (20min by the beach) and downtown (20 min by streets or by the beach). Staff was very helpful, restaurant however serves small portion for the price charged. Breakfast is also minimal and small compared to usual. There is no chilling area so I’d recommend for someone quiet or family; not for party or socializing.

Give it only 2 start because it is at best a 2 start. Aesthetically looking a 3 start but the hotel is far from that. Basic things a 3 star hotel should provide that we did not experience. Room service everyday but toilette or sink was not cleaned once. Was not provided toilette paper. We had to go to the reception to ask for it. Even tho the hotel is placed 2 min from a beach they don’t provide beach towels. First time we experienced that from a hotel. We have probably stayed at 20+ hotels the last few years. Guests of the hotel had to rent their bikes. The previous hotels we stayed at provided us either free or very low cost. This hotel had the highest prices we encountered in many places we asked in holbox. 600 pesos for 2 bikes 1 day. In the city most places charge 400 a day. No laundry service. Very basic breakfast. We had so much mosquitoes and roaches in our room that we had to buy electric bug thing you stick into a socket. First 2 days we found 4 massive roaches in our rooms. 1 was in our bed while sleeping. We have stayed 3 weeks in Mexico and 4 different hotels. Never had problems with insects. Here we did every day. Not a terrible place to stay. But 3 star is a big reach for this hotel. I’d say a weak 2 star at best.

We are currently still at Casa Margot and I can not recommend this place more!!! We had a few issues that were completely out of the staffs control but they handled it so well and made sure our needs were met and we were happy overall! The first night we stayed the lock on our door was jamming, so they completely replaced the lock as soon as we told them. The second night we didn’t have any hot water to shower .. and the manager (AJ) was super kind and compassionate about it! He spent overnight trying to figure out why and sadly it was something to do with that specific room. So the minute they had another room available (which we didn’t think we would get one because they were booked solid) but the next morning they moved us to a room with running hot water. We were super grateful for it! But the manager (AJ) and staff went above and beyond by giving us a dinner and bottle of wine on the house at their restaurant! We have been wanting to try the pizza and lobster pasta and are super excited about it! Very happy and grateful for how our issues were handled. 10/10 !! Would definitely be back here again!!
