Hotel Casa Pan de Miel - 70946 Mazunte

Super nice staff, breathtaking views. Great breakfast!

A real hidden gem. Can’t recommend Casa Pan de Miel enough. Staff were so nice and always went above and beyond. The food was delicious - especially the breakfasts. They arranged a horseback tour along the beach for me and it was a highlight of my trip to Mexico. You also won’t find a pool with a better view!

Booked Casa Pan de Miel because of the photos - it did not disappoint at all!! Probably the most gorgeous hotel on the beach. It was great to have a pool when you don’t feel like getting sandy from the ocean. Easy access to the beach (involves a steep, rocky staircase so might not be for everyone). Views were absolutely incredible. Room was comfortable. Staff was super kind, warm and accommodating. They made everything very easy which made my trip super relaxing! Will be back!

Once in a lifetime kind of place! We debated staying directly on the beach vs cliffs and Casa Pan de Miel did not disappoint! More than incredible hosts, lovely rooms, and jaw dropping view. There's a breezy, unpretentious charm here... I'd like to sit by their pool and ponder its magic for another week. Walked through their entrance and immediately lost track of the date and time. I'll spend by life underwhelmed by the hospitality of every other hotel thanks to Aldo, Valentina, Anna Laura, and the entire team. Loved: easy beach access, breakfast, great cocktail or beer at the hotel until 10pm or so, extremely quiet area made for great sleep, hats/sarongs/umbrellas to borrow, everything they booked at our request (the on-site massages, the tours, the dinners, the taxi to Oaxaca City) Arrived here somewhat by chance on day 8 of a bike packing adventure through Oaxaca and found the entire experience staggeringly comfortable. Planned for 2 days and stayed for 5 (honey mooners luck that they had space!).

Incredible place! We stayed in Casa pan de Miel for 10 days and it was an outstanding experience. First of all I want to thank Anne and Aldo for being wonderful hosts, and running the hotel with such great attention to details. The breakfast is very tasty with a variety of homemade food such as banana bread, different marmalades, granola etc. The view is breathtaking, and on top of that you’re just a few steps away from basically a private beach. You’re a walking distance from San Augustinillo, the Mazunte beaches, but without all the noise and hustle. Another big pro! Is the wifi which can be a problem in mazunte area, but worked amazingly in the hotel and I was able to work and go on zoom calls etc.. The staff is super friendly, always made us feel like home, and just made our stay even better. Thank you everyone in Casa pan de miel for having us, and giving us such a great experience. You are paying for the view and that's all. Be weary of 5 star reviews. The owner is incredibly rude and unpleasant and is currently selling the hotel so doesn't care about her guests. While we were there multiple groups of buyers showed up. When I voiced the fact that our mattress was broken (easily 10-20 years old) and we had an ant problem as well as multiple simple issues that could have been fixed (unlockable door, yellow pillows, stained linens, broken chairs in the balcony) and wondered if we could change rooms, she got incredibly defensive and kicked us out of the hotel. I was very clear that we didn't want a refund or a discount and we simply felt like they were a 2-3 star hotel riding off their view. She refunded our money and we were forced to find a temporary hotel during our honeymoon. The frustrating part is that her staff told us that they know all of this but the hotel is for sale and the owner doesn't want to invest anymore money into it. She is 80 years old and out of touch with what people expect as a bare minimum. I work in hospitality....and quite frankly she wins the award for most unpleasant human I have had to deal with. I will gladly share my correspondence with anyone, but I recommend you wait until new owners buy this place and give it the facelift it needs. If the owner wasn't a miserable human being I would give this place 3 stars because the pool and view are quite spectacular and the staff are lovely. I am sure the owner will reply here with some long strain of lies.....but remember at Casa pan de mierde the customer is never right. The staff is lovely and it's a shame they have to deal with her. I would hire them anyday for any future projects I have. Tread lighly....and if they offer you room number 9 run. We moved to another hotel that day and wow are we happy. Disclaimer....before we were kicked out for voicing our concerns we had a 10 day reservation that we cut to 4 days. Im just beyond happy they refunded all of our money because it made me sick that I was paying them double the price anywhere else for basically an upscale hostel room experience. (They even it have white energy savers in the room, so forget any romantic setting). Love waking up with ants in our bed. Good riddance. Let that sink in....kicked out of a hotel on our honeymoon for voicing concerns. Not normal.

This place has the most amazing view! The hotel and pool are very nice. The food is good and the staff is so friendly and helpful, especially Tania! I will definitely come back here. Thank you Casa Pan de Miel!
