Very clean, great pool, awesome rooftop view, very close to the brand new indoor market (april 2018), perfect kitchen and a lovely coffee shop at the hotel from the same owners. Highly recommend this place if you want to escape the busy Zicatela strip

Luz and Nino are great. Newly renovated rooms, awesome pool, kitchen to cook meals and fridge to keep beer cold. Free drinking water. Even a blender to make smoothies. A highlight of Mexico for sure. Call directly or show up for best rates. The best hosts.

Only 10-20 minute walk to La Punta or Zicatela. Keeps you out of the thick of it. Very quiet. Hosts are around and very kind. The caretaker, Alejandro, was also very sweet and helpful. You have everything you could want really. Pool, full clean kitchen, close to the beach and all the hip spots, markets around the corner. Close to main road so easy to catch a camioneta. Definitely check it out!

THE ROOM - The “Bendita” room was exactly what I expected. Note that the price seems to be very reasonable (compared to hotels nearby). The highlights of this room that may not have been in the other rooms was the small kitchenette. Note there is no AC and the bed is very firm but there is a ceiling fan, and it can cool down at night sometimes. THE PROPERTY - I absolutely loved the “property”, it was a small gated yellow building where all the rooms (on the first and second floor) circled around a small courtyard that held a pool, a communal kitchen, and both padded sun chairs, and wooden chairs and tables. Often times, I found that I was the only one using the small pool or working on my laptop (decent wifi - was not downloading or streaming often though, and the wifi works primarily in the common spaces and it is slower when there are more people staying in the hotel) - The property is very clean and the employees/family are often seen throughout the day doing general upkeep; they will also clean the room every two-three days.. The youngest woman speaks English (everyone else speaks Spanish) and was there to replace towels, or give an extra blanket- this was very appreciated! THE NEIGHBOURHOOD - As a young female, I felt safe in the neighbourhood, it really is a quiet area during the day. I was given a key to both my room and the property gate. Both the room door and the gate lock upon closing (remember to bring your key!). However, the neighbourhood in particular was often loud at night (i.e. parties, dogs, fireworks, etc. visiting over the December holidays) no matter the weekday (so plan accordingly to ensure a good night rest, earplugs, etc.) - Notable places to get food/groceries (Pepe’s Fish Tacos; Alaburger; La Olita; Mercado [market]; Spirulina; the street food along the main strip in Zicatela

As a female solo traveler, I highly recommend this place. I felt very safe and the hosts,Luz and Nino are amazing and took care of me really well. Also this place is great for couples or friends that want to relax or have a good sleep. If you are looking for partying 24/7 better go to where Selina hostel is in Puerto with their loud music or Punta. The area is quiet, there are locals living around and some other hotels. I felt save walking around. It's just 2 min from the beach and it's in the middle of the beach between la Punta and the shopping area 10-15min,nice walk by the beach. Taxis are cheap. The market is very close to buy fruit and vegetables. I recommend the restaurant Doña Claudia by the market and the taqueria in the same street as the airbnb. If you are an advance surfer planning to surf everyday then maybe better book in front of the surf spot (Selina area for barrels and Punta for normal waves). If you are beginer or new intermediate maybe think of staying at Carrisalillo beach or stay here and the surf classes will take you there. Positive things about this airbnb: - good wifi (i had to work a few days but be aware that i did have to upload/download big files or photos). - very clean! they clean your room every 3 days, more than enough. - the hosts are great! (ask them for tips or for tours, they will recommend you only good ones and a bit cheaper than the agencies in Puerto) - great price. My private single room with its own toilet/shower was cheaper that a bed in a sharing dorm/toilets .

Had an amazing stay here - the rooms are very clean and the staff are very kind and helpful. Convenient location right beside the mercado and collectivos. They even helped us arrange a taxi to the airport as well. Would stay here again:)

An excellent choice for accommodation on your trip to Puerto Escondido. Located in-between the bustling hotspots of Zicatela and La Punta, 3 mins walk to the market, and 2 mins walk to the main road to grab an 8 peso colectivo up and down the strip, sits Hotel Xaa. My room was spacious and had a queen bed and a fan at a cost of 400 pesos/night. The property has a great pool with lounge chairs, a small cafe, a great rooftop to hang out and watch the sunset, and a well equipped shared kitchen space for all the guests with all the necessities and 2 refrigerators. The biggest PRO this hotel has are the blazing fast wifi speeds, certainly the fastest BY FAR that I've found during my 2 weeks in Puerto. It sits comfortably at 40 mbps and can jump to 70mbps, the 2 routers are in the center so depending on your room it may not be as strong, but in the common spaces it is 100%. Also, the caretakers Luz and her husband are always around and always working hard to keep the place clean and neat. While it's not in the center with lots of action or surrounded by restaurants or stuff to do, it's nestled off on side streets where it's quiet (aside from the expected animals and dogs) and still conveniently placed near the hot spots of Puerto. There's 3 local eateries within a block, great laundry across the street, plenty to find in the market just minutes away, and minutes to the beach. Good location, good management, good facilities overall, and blazing fast WiFi. This is the spot!

**Best Wifi in town!!** The place is great, the pictures show you what you can expect. This review is strictly about their wifi. It is better than anywhere else in town. Good wifi is hard to come by around here. Zoom calls are very frustrating. Casa Xaa has a stronger wifi than even the coworking spaces! If you have work to do, this is the best place I’ve found in Escondido. Hands down. I love it here, and my friends staying in other airbnbs are super jealous!
