This is one of my favourite restaurants in San Francisco by far. Sustainable, Locally grown and Organic foods. Creative combinations filled with flavour. I’ve yet to see anywhere else with options like here. The location is close to the beach. The staff are highly knowledgeable. The ambience is great.

Where to start! The setting, the staff, the food...especially the food, the rooms. Everything is so intimate and personable once you enter Cielo Rojo. Every staff member was sweet and helpful throughout our short 3 night stay, but really made the vacation worth it. Their in house bistro is AMAZING and can always find somebody interesting to chat with on the patio as well. Quick 1 minute walk to the beach and coming back to hot showers and some really nice lavender soap was a treat in itself. Thanks Gisela and her amazing staff for an unforgettable vacation :) See you soon!

This is my 7th visit to Hotel Cielo Rojo and I am finally writing a review. Coming here is like coming to visit an old friend; a warm welcome from the staff, the most comfortable beds outside my home, the decor is delightful and the location is perfect. Everything is well thought out at this lovely boutique hotel. For convenience they have the Bistro Organico downstairs and it serves up the most delicious healthy food. Breakfast is my favorite with the green smoothie to the Buddha bowl with organic ingredients. I highly recommend a visit. I promise you it will be a unique and memorable experience.

Love love loved this beautiful boutique hotel. The staff was incredible, helpful and so nice. The location was beautiful. The rooms adorable. Small with no TV but that made the vacation all the better. Food in the bistro was delicious. I can’t wait to come back and stay. Thank you for such an amazing stay ?

Simply amazing. Do yourself a favor and rent the villa. You will have an entire house and pool to yourself. Definitely the nicest spot in town.

We had breakfast here 4 days in a row, food is very good, local, healthy as they claim. Service was excellent (mostly due to our waitress being very kind) and then having dinner here, the lady who took care of our table was extra welcoming, kind and empathetic, they even gifted us a delicious sweet tart because the fish we ordered was accidentally raw, to which we had no problem or complaint with! It happens and are understanding of natural human -errors- On the last day we had breakfast here, being with two children (without any meltdowns or tantrums which are very common and nothing to be ashamed of!) just children being children (yes they do speak with loud tones here and there and play with each other) The owner comes up to me (their mother) and says: Do you speak English? To which I reply yes, I do. And says “ok we’ll I am one of the owners, Keith, your children are welcomed here if they do not scream, however if they do scream you have to take them out of here and take care of it because there are people sleeping). This hotel is very, very small. So I do recommend as business owners, if they do not want noise, they should NOT welcome families at all, and never, ever tell a mother to go take care of their children (?) outside if they DO claim to accept families/children. I felt completely humiliated as a parent, it was with the most entitled tone, and inhumane. If they do not accept children, I completely understand, but they do, and children are to be treated with respect and understanding that they are (literally) learning how to regulate their emotions. If you are a family traveling I do not recommend staying here. I should also add, that while this happened there were 3 other families with children (babies) who were naturally being children, crying, cueing, etc. We just happened to be the only looking Mexican Family. And they do not ever have working terminal service, they ask for cash (I would like to save my comments on this).

I desperately wanted to love this place after reading the reviews. And for all intents and purposes, it is a beautiful hotel with a fantastic restaurant. However, we didn't know we were signing up for the "primera" room with a front door connected to the lobby. A beautiful room with literally no privacy. No joke the front desk could hear our farts. We booked 4 nights, but only stayed one due to being unable to sleep, and I'm not sure if it was a language barrier or what, but we were unable to get a refund and had to eat the cost of the room. Overall it would have been lovely had we not been in the ground level lobby room (not lobby adjacent. Legitimately in the lobby). I strongly encourage people to double check the room you're in before you go and/or book.

Stayed here for 4 nights. I would say the two best things about the hotel was the pool (located at a separate property) and the food service. We had lunch and dinner here and they were both amazing. A tiny breakfast is included in your stay. Just an FYI if you are expecting to work here, the hotel lost power for 6 hours on one of days here, which according to locals happens often in the area. The rooms were on the much small sider when compared to other similarly prices properties in the area.
