We staid there 3 nights. The location is superb, and the food is OK, although a bit overpriced. However, the management is awful and the building old and with several problems. No hot water in the shower and the toilet doesnt flush. For a place with only 4 bedrooms, and for the cost per night, you'd expect these basic things to be fixed, right? Also, the room has only the bed, with zero chairs or cloths hangers. They say that breakfast is included, but what is actually included is only coffee, some fruit and 2 slides of bread. Have these people ever traveled and staid at an hotel with included breakfast before?!?! Clearly not. And also, we were leaving the hotel at 8 am to go to the bus station, and when we asked to get breakfast earlier or to take away, they said that wasbt possible. Awful service, bad manners and impolite management. I'd warlmy recommend to go somewhere else. The potential is so good as the view is fantastic, but clearly these people have zero experience in running a hotel.

This is a beautiful new Italian restaurant and pizzería with a lovely “garden” atmosphere. You are literally right on the shore of the lagoon. I thought the pizzas and salads were very high quality and everything was reasonably priced. Though I haven’t seen it I bet this place is spectacular at night because they have carefully strung beautiful lights.

UPDATE: A day later, my partner now has food poisoning, almost certainly from the charcuterie board. I usually don’t write negative reviews but I had a really disappointing lunch at this place and was surprised given all the existing stellar reviews. It is a beautiful setup with a great view of the lake, but really all the food we got served was not good, and seemed to be cheap/poor quality even though they were trying to make it sound fancy on the menu. Our arugula salad came out instead with lettuce that was a day too old (turning pink), the charcuterie board seemed filled with items you would find at a grocery store meat section, and again, had probably seen better days. With the higher menu prices, there was an expectation of quality that was just not met in any way. I recommend going somewhere else or at least somewhere cheaper.

The view to the lagoon is amazing! The restaurant is delicious, we had the fruit bowl, pizza.and Benedictine eggs which were absolutely delicious (probably the best food weve had in Bacalar) The hosts were the nicest and most attentive people ever! Thank you very much for making this experience an amazing one :)

BEAUTIFUL lagoon. Also, the hotel is right next to it right next to it (like 10 feet away from the water)! It also has swings and hammocks above the water. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean as well. It is a bit expensive though so beware. That's all I have to say. Bye!

This is an amazing place, we having a super experience, the place is amazing … this view is one of the best I saw in all my all life, it’s a familial restaurant. The people are very cool, the atmosphere is like at home, the service is perfect , and what we eat is beautiful, tasteful , we are here in Mexico for 10 days and it was my best experience to eat. Go to take a diner in buho lagoon, you would be very happy for sure and you will remember of this place . Tomorrow we come again ! For sure ! Before to leave

It's on the lagoon which is 5 stars but as for this place I'd give it a 2- the fruit that comes with the complimentary breakfast is near ready for the trash the next day meaning brown on the pineapple and deep red of papaya, we asked for a taxi at 12pm and they didn't listen then called one for when we had asked causing the taxi driver to wait 20 minutes and us pay 3x the price and the owner gave us attitude before leaving saying it wasn't her fault the taxi was there early and she only calls taxis for the moment we need not ahead of time which is a bit ridiculous... she did help w 2 of our bags which was nice, but she charged us for the towels in the room (due to orange on the towels which came from the towel hooks that were painted by the hotel and not covered with a finish), and if you want an extra towel they will charge you for this too considering the price of the hotel I'd like to see towels included.. also construction was happening nearly every day we were there.. I'd recommend staying somewhere else on the lagoon

Quiet with a beautiful view of the lagoon. Wait staff was friendly, breakfast was light, beer was fine. We really enjoyed sipping our drinks in the hammocks over the water. The room was comfortable. Parking was a bit weird due to road construction, but we were still able to park across the street.
