Hotel El Moro - 77580 Puerto Morelos

With so many options in this little village, this is certainly one place to rest, for certain. Exceptionally cost efficient and staffed with a few amazing women who keep the wheels turning. If approached with no expectations and the wish for an underachieving experience, this could be just what you're looking for. Just enough mystery to make you doubt online reviews for the rest of your life.

Great owners. They bend over backwards for their guests. Perfect location. Close to everything.

I was in PM end of Oct-Nov 2021 for 2 week and stayed several nights in El Moro. Everything was great (cleanliness, staff, restaurant). However, I'm very sensitive to noise and the place across the street (Spyder Cafe), had a band on weekends that I could hear in my room. The owner of Hotel Moros, Alejandro, showed me a room in the back of the compound near the street in back that was much better in terms of the band noise. However, that room had a few small problems, like the cold water in bathroom sink didn't work, ceiling light and fan were on same switch, shower was weak and took forever to warm up. BTW, the Spyder Cafe should not have been allowed to have a loud band or even run their loud recorded music during the week. It drowns out the music at the restaurants across the street. They should move to an enclosed building away from the town. They ruin the otherwise mellow atmosphere of that relaxing lane.

We (2 adults + 2 kids 15 &12) booked 2 rooms one week in advance. Booking was immidiately confirmed. On the arrival day we called the hotel and informed 1h before our arrival. As we arrived at 8pm the receptionist informed us they do not have the booked rooms for us but they paid for a room in another hotel. After we have seen this very low standard room we asked for speaking with the El Moro owner, who wanted to offer us an additional breakfast if we accept to stay in the other single room. As we proved that our booking already included breakfast he offered us to staying without payment. As it was late and we were tired we accepted his offer to sleep in this one room. On the next morning the owner declied to cancel our booking and give us the money back_he named us free loader. So he is a lier. Do not trust him!

We booked with this hotel because it was one of the cheapest in puerto morelos and it was the best decision ever. For a cheap price you get a very big room with a full functioning kitchen and has lots of windows and glass doors allowing for a lot of light. And all of this was for their cheapest room. They have a nice courtyard which was very peaceful and our room was right in front of the hotel restaurant but there was no disturbance, no noise, or no privacy issues. The location was close to the public beach. The staff was very nice too. We would stay here again if we come by Puerto Morelos again.

What a cute little place! It is in a great location, next to the local restaurants and shops, and of course very close to the beach. The size of the hotel is also perfect - not too big, and no party people, mostly couples. The restaurant at the hotel is also very good and with very reasonable discounted prices of the hotel guests. The staff is super friendly, helpful and attentive. We are very happy with our stay!

El Moro Hotel is a beautiful hotel with an excellent restaurant. The pool is the perfect temperature and is mostly in the shade. The women at the front desk are efficient and pleasant. My room rate included breakfast which was wonderful. The owners of El Moro restaurant are a young couple and are so nice! They offer an excellent chardonnay by the bottle. I was so pleased with the hotel and restaurant that I'm already planning my next trip to to El Moro. Susan

Very clean place, Edna and the other housekeepers do an excellent job, their garden and decorations are very attractive. Make sure to stay in the back of the hotel, the two restaurant's next to the hotel are VERY LOUD & you may have a hard time sleeping early???...The front desk personnel were polite, but a little distant??... Good water pressure, bring a small car, parking is a little limited unless you park on the street which is always busy. For traditional and more affordable food you will have to drive to the town which is a out 10 minutes from the hotel. Walking distance to the beach is about 5 minutes away, not very good to swim there, the water is a little rough and the clear see is not wide enough, good for walking and pictures though?
